The worst job, you have computerworks, you use yohr knowledge and skills, you walk a million steps for 12 hours, fhe pressure, the violence from ot and families, bullies from seniors, unforgivimg managers, procedures, treatmenfs., bring ice watwr bring coffee fix bed char tv not working you wipe ass clean poop, no pee no poop no lunch. Absolutely. I feel like there is so much respect for doctors and administrators, when we are the ones doing all the actual work. Sometimes I feel like our salaries should be reversed if we were actually to consider the work being done!
MD 10 mins is already too much for them lol, but if the RN is not available for 1 minute because she is in another room wiping ass, the pt ir family memeber will despise you treat you like you have done something wrong, gosh! The duties and responsibilities of RNs need to be ammended and give those bringing of ice water to below the RN status(this is the truth) so we can have chance to thoroughly read charts and do the clinicals. Some would say, you did not read the chart! How can you read the chart when all yo have to do all day is feed total care pts and wipe ass. Where is the justice there?
That's the thing, it's all about profits. The executives running the organizations need to justify what they do when they report quarterly earnings, and what Wall Street analysts want to hear is that costs are being cut. So that means squeezing more work out of the people who really make the organization valuable.
