Hi I’m a current Graduate student, hoping to get my foot in the door for Deloitte Healthcare Consulting, Accenture CDP, or EY specifically within Chicago Offices. Is there anyone open to connecting and speaking on their experience being hired? I have previous experience working prior to my degree so hoping to get insight on how I can best score an interview. If you’re also open to providing a referral that would be a bonus!

Which agencies are going through layoffs
Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

One time I was interviewing at an agency; everything was feeling good and I made it through the rounds. I finally met with my potential partner. I told her what I had worked on, and the type of work I would like to do, and while I was showing her some of my reel she said under her breath, "why would you want to here?..."
Later, I told the recruiter I wasn't interested.
Every person at their desk looks miserable.
1. They avoid having you talk to people on the team.
2. Recruiter sells hard.
3. The senior person hiring you acts like it's a privilege to work there (or even just meet with them) and your career will "blow up".
4. People are leaving the place at a breakneck pace and the reason you're given is "it's not for everyone, only the best".
5. Lots of negative posts on Fishbowl.
- When no one is happy about the work they do.
- When you ask them what's the biggest determining factor for getting a promotion within their agency and they hesitate to answer.
- The hiring manager is extremely insecure and doesn't try to recruit you during the recruitment process. Instead, they try to grill you and exert dominance as opposed to being an engaged in a conversation. This interview is a two-way street.
Any time I've heard the words "flat structure," and "meritocracy"I've experienced zero leadership, sweatshop, with few advancement opportunities and a bunch of juniors behaving like crabs in a bucket.
I had interviewers show up 10+ minutes late because they were grabbing drinks at the office keg. Later in a group interview, the people I was interviewing with were more busy talking to each other than me. I remember thinking they were super unprofessional, but took the job anyway. The office ended up being amplified variations of these experiences.
I was once asked during round 1 over the phone what year I graduated from college.... Yeah.. No to that!
Once an interviewer told me she was worried I would get bored because the type of work in my portfolio was more exciting than anything they had
When they take forever to get back to you with feedback (like weeks or even months), and then suddenly come out of the blue with an offer after weeks without responsiveness (after interviewing everyone else they thought they'd get cheaper than you).
@director 1 wwwuuh oh
Their body language at the in person meeting or their tone of voice over the phone. Do they sound like they're stressed, doing lots of things at once, scattered? Huge red flags.
