If you don't want to do PRD, this probably isn't a good firm for you.
I love having initiatives. Gives me more opportunities to meet new people and develop areas that I don't get a chance to on my project.
You must be new. We've reduced this significantly over the last 5 years.
They want us to focus on 2 major ones now and deliver more impact in each. No hours though
You're not doing extra work for free. You are salaried, not getting paid per hour. Doing initiatives gives you the chance to grow your skills and network so that you become a better consultant overall. If you are so against doing that, find another firm.
LOL this guy clearly has no social life^
Didn't say I didn't like or didn't want to do them (well some of them) just feel that the amount of time spent working on firm initiatives on top of client work can sometimes be a little much. I have "impactful" initiatives but sometimes that means additional hours I may not always have available.
Agree with @OP to some extent. Impact should count more than hours.
We don't have minimum impact hours requirements
Wow so many brainwashed fucks... This is why I hate Deloitte. Who the fuck likes to do extra work for free??
Grow up D8. Using personal attack because you can back up your reasoning... I'm embarrassed you're a coworker
I'm not new and I do have 2 initiatives.
Quality not quantity is true. But that seems to be changing with the new addition of job jar. Where you can waste your time with meaningful tasks.
Job jar?
Become an associate. No PRD required but non-tradition career path
D8 - Go get and industry job and work 8 - 4:30. Your extracurricular can then be softball and bowling. Plus maybe boredom, less pay, less career path, etc, but I bet your social life will be awesome. Anyway, for OP, the "job" is defined as client work plus firm work, so you have to do both.
