I just had a first round interview with HR. It’s a large company with tons of reviews about what the interview process so I expected to get behavioral questions. In reality the person spent the first 10 minutes explaining what the role is not. They could not answer specific questions about the role and only asked me two specific questions about my current job and 1 behavioral question and then went into salary/benefits. Is it typical to still go over salary if they don’t expect to move forward?
Any difference between the specialist route and the traditional path at McKinsey? Is there a WLB difference? The role I am looking at the is client facing product manager role in digital.

Is this a bad time to quit and start looking for a new job? I hate my current job/workplace and really want to quit, however, I am concerned that finding a new job might be difficult right now. Should I stay in my current role until the economy improves?
Any advice on when to contact HR for a position I interviewed for almost 2 weeks ago? If they’re not contacting me they’re not interested, still interviewing or haven’t yet made a decision...

Hi fellow ladies in finance! Curious to know: has anyone seriously contemplated leaving the industry for similar reasons? I have over 10 years experience working for various firms, now as a CFP but I'm really feeling the burnout. I've worked hard to be in this position, but honestly...I'm tired of working really hard to put plans together and help people that do not do what they said they they want to do, and instead we are nagging clients to get shit done. The things, as planners, we cannot do
I live with my SO (of 2 years) & just had coffee with an ex-colleague I had a crush on.
The ex-colleague lived in another city and held a higher position, so we didn’t pursue when we were single. He then moved to my city in a relationship. Then, I started dating someone and have been ever since (ex-colleague was unavail)
Ex-colleague reached out to me when he was single, but I was still taken & now he’s back with his ex gf & just told me she moves in next month
I shouldn’t be, but I’m crushed
I am an HR “Manager” with 8+ years experience. Bachelors in HR and a SHRM-CP cert. Currently employed at a manufacturing facility w/ 80 employees in Metro Detroit, Michigan (Macomb Twp). I am a department of one with no direct reports under me. I feel as though my role is more of a “generalist” position as my duties are more aligned with that. I am currently at $75k and promised to be increased to $82k in the next month. Bonuses are discretionary and never the same amount. Fairly compensated?
If anyone in the Philadelphia/NYC area is interested in a tax role at Deloitte- feel free to send me a message! More than happy to submit referrals:) all levels welcome

Hi! I’ve been a sales manager role for a little over 2 years now and I’m making $120k for salary. However, I have no bonuses, no commission, no additional income no matter if I hit the sales targets or not. Advice?
Curious how people in a similar situation have setup beneficiaries for estate planning. My partner and I have no children. We’re not married. But we’ve been together for nearly 10 years and own property together. My parents are both alive. They are ok financially but not wealthy. I have a brother who does quite well for himself. I want to take care of everyone and not cause any rifts.
Anyone here transition from Risk/IA to Corp Strategy or Strategy & Ops? Can you please share how you translated your IA skills to those roles during interviews?
Does anyone work in industrial automation? I work as a director and my base is 160k in a MCOL/HCOL. TC is typically going to be a bit over 200k, depending on sales.
Need advice for my full time job in tech. Would you guys pursue business analyst roles or IT project coordinator roles? I would like a job that would land me a Project Management role in the least amount of time.

I manage my own money (about $500k NW) and thoroughly enjoy it. I could never give up actively managing my own assets in favor of a broker. But even though I voraciously read personal finance stuff and usually feel like I’m doing it all right, I still wonder sometimes if I’d benefit from professional advice. Has anyone in my shoes used a fee-only planner for periodic strategic guidance? What’s the value add I should consider?

What’s a good way of telling a bunch of partners that I’m not that interested in having their job? I make $500k+ and my wife makes $300k, so we’re not really struggling financially and I don’t really need to make $1M+. I have 2 kids... I usually travel Mon-Thu but not always and I’m not in multiple cities in a week like most partners. I don’t have a natural “selling” personality. And, I’m not really stressed about work ever, like most partners I interact with.
What would you do? Option A — taking on lead senior/manager role for multiple projects while underpaid, for promise of early promo to manager; Option B — switch firms for same level of senior associate for higher pay but starting over with learning/networking/proving yourself
