Any thoughts on Macquarie in Chi?
McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Hiiii! I’ve been at my job for a year and a couple of months now & I’ve gotten rather bored because the work is repetitive, not challenging, and hasn’t really allowed me to learn or grow as much as I would’ve liked to. Given how I’m still paying a ton of money for my postgrad in Business Comms (that I haven’t really gotten the chance to use), I’ve been thinking of entering the world of consulting. Any word of advice? PwC McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group KPMG
Would you rather work under a PA, MD, or NP?
May graduates, what are your post grad plans?

I'd take the money. 🤷🏽. That's a significant amount .
2nd the counter.
A transparent conversation: I love it here, but the TC gap is too big to ignore. I really see myself continuing to grow with this company and appreciate the support and mentorship you've provided over the last years. What can we do to close this gap, so I can stay?
(expect them to meet in the middle, and then don't expect to be able to ask for another counter for 3-4 years)
You’d be surprised at getting counters. I thought I wouldn’t get one (2 YOE, not an SME) but was offered a 20% increase to stay (almost FAANG offer)
I ultimately left for the FAANG because of long term opportunities. FS didn’t feel like a growing org, and upward trajectory and TC would be slow.
Move? You can always come back to FS
This is correct.

Stay, no question
No it's worth the jump, but you said you really value WLB

Try to get a counter from current firm!
Thansk, this was my idea as well. unfortunately, confirmed current firm won't match haha
Id only feel comfortable staying at the F100 if I saw a clear, realistic path to a drastic increase in comp. A role in a top tech firm is going to open up a lot of doors. The variable here is that it’s hard to say how many of those doors are already open to you with that F100 roll.
Do you have a wife, kids, hobbies, or other things that the extra time could be allocated to that will bring you happiness and balance?
If not then take the TC and stronger career path in tech. It might be a wash in terms of pay per hour, but if the free time isn't bringing you any value then you might as well monetize it and work more.
Thanks! The offer is actually on the Microsoft Azure and AI team. I know you're in a different part of the org, but would you have any insight on their WLB?
I think anything consistently over 50 is too much for me.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Most jobs increase in responsibility and hours as you progress, even in industry.
Coasting to VP level on 30 hours a week is not realistic
What does FS mean?
I got that F100 = Fortune 100
Yup financial services (banking/fintech etc)
