I have a foreign sounding name, am not white and was born and raised in another country. I’m pretty certain I know which country you’re from too. Most of my MBB peers are super accommodating and accepting. I know it’s hard to get in and I wish you all the best but believe me it’s not due to some inherent bias.
Not inherent bias, access to coaching resources and connections that are otherwise unavailable. Again, you're not addressing the arbitrary reason
Why do you want to necessarily get into MBB? Not all successful people are from MBB and not all people from MBB are successful

I can tell up front you’re terribly wrong to assume folks at MBB or elite MBA are white and from rich family.
I’m an immigrant who went to state school, pissed poor early on (think family of 5 in studio apartment). I worked my way to get to one of the HSW, didn’t make MBB, but ended up fairly well comparing to where I started.
Quit blaming the circumstances, sure life ain’t fair and people start off better, but start owning up to your own life
Let’s breakdown “elites”. 1) parents have capital to spare. 2) access to good schools and good networks.
So most smart capable “elites” - and I know my fair share of “elites” with million+ inheritance packages - go into entrepreneurship to take advantage of the capital. You also can make a lot more money in entrepreneurship and it’s fitting for someone who’s a bit of a “princess” and wants to call all the shots and do things their way. Some get into good firms - but would you do MBB if you had seed capital to build the company you wanted and see comparable salary? You also can’t buy or network your way out of poor grades, low or average IQ, or a poor work ethic.
Unfortunately the hiring criteria requires none of this for MBB except maybe it helps to come from a good school or good network.
So if you got an interview - it’s your personality, your drive, your attitude and your ability to solve problems and - most importantly - how much the partners think clients will like you - that will give you the pass. In fact - there are more people that I can count in MBB who are first generation Uni grads. If anything these folks are preferred because they are hungry and don’t have mum & dad to fall back on if the don’t like the feedback they are getting. Don’t think for a second that working in these jobs is a lap of luxury where you just get paid tonnes of money to sit around talking about ideas. It’s challenging, and gruelling at times. It’s not a reward, but the start of a much steeper more treacherous climb.
As a first gen immigrant here, there are a LOT of other foreign kids. Much more than other "white-collar" jobs. Plenty of students also get in from nontraditional backgrounds (military vets, experienced hires from industry, nontarget schools)
I think you don’t really understand how MBB works. MBB’s core purpose is not to support immigrants like yourself looking to become a wealthy and successful elite. There core purpose is not to be fair to everyone and abolish elitism. Their core purpose is to serve clients and develop people (all people), and they will do it in a way that’s as fair and good for society as possible. If your not being considered, it’s probably that you haven’t really been convincing that you have more to offer MBB than the 2000 other non-target applicants who also want the job.
You could do excel and ppt at a place that wants you or not - why desire to go to a place that doesn’t want you? A good friend is an Asian woman who worked in banking, realized she’s never make it to the top of her firm, was frustrated, and went to tech never looking back.
I’m going to take a guess that the reason you didn’t get in was your attitude, you sound very entitled
You do realize how many people from non-target schools get rejected? Let alone targets....
Also - being from a wealthy family won’t solve your problems I see the cream of the crop of people from all walks of life and backgrounds get corralled into the slaughter
Your own entitlement and elitism is showing. Admittedly, there is a massive degree of luck in the hiring proces
At Bain it’s definitely not possible to get into as a person of color but McKinsey and BCG are very diverse.
Keith Bevans will tell you that you’re wrong
I’m non pedigree, public college, and foreign name. McKinsey and BCG pick up a good amount of people that hit the qualities you describe. Is it entirely on MBB and not at all on you?

Relatively few McK US hires come from traditional “privileged” backgrounds. No one gives a shit where you come from. We hire wicked-smart hard-working people who have a history of making things happen. Simply being able to “do the work well” and “having base skills” will fall below our bar.
