OP, my kiddo was born last January so I went through this. Talk to your teams AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I took 2 weeks off when my kid was born, then worked busy season, and took the summer off. Highly recommend it as my daughter was a few months older. Precious time I’ll cherish forever.
Wasnt able to find it by searching. It may also be that the little guy is sick and I'm not sleeping and cant find anything anymore.

I am on my family leave right now (I’m the dad) I told my leadership CF partner, EM and client 5 month prior. Get them to sign the paper work for approval (they’ll do it no questions asked). Then take your time and enjoy it.
How do I navigate planning my leave? Do I just tell my team when I plan to take the 16 week? Or should I get team input first - i.e., whether to space it out or take it all at once, and adjust to facilitate future projects?
What changed in the 12/18 policy?
You no longer have to be primary caregiver to take it. Under old policy you had to be primary caregiver to take the 16 wk leave meaning your spouse had to return to work.
Let your team know ASAP. In terms of their opinions of you talking any/all of the leave, do you really care? Family > Work.
Agree. It’s a firm benefit, not a favor. While you should obviously keep everyone informed, it’s up to you, not your team.
