Will wineries ever pay their wine hosts and Sommeliers a living wage? Will they stop assuming that clients are tipping enough to compensate for the lack of wages? How can you expect a wine host to have extensive wine knowledge of luxury wines, Michelin restaurants, and years of experience while living in the most expensive area of the US and play them hourly less than a fast food employee and offer no benefits? Seriously! Time to unionize.

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. Been with my current company 5 years now. I run my own team but have a micromanaging boss who likes to create chaos for me. I need advice from the collective. It seems like there is a trend to sell wine in unique bottles. The only problem with this, those bottles will not fit into my wine fridge.
