With the push for RTO,think more firms should offer onsite childcare as a benefit..it’s tough for working parents out there and this would ease some pain ,thoughts?

Agreed! 100%. Especially if you were hired as a full time remote employee. If you were hired hybrid, then that's a different story, but this would definitely make the transition smoother for a lot of us I think.

Google just laid off their entire onsite daycare staff. If they couldn’t sustain it, I don’t know what company would…though I would love the benefit

Yes, that is one of the main pushback for RTO because child care is crazy-expensive. It makes returning to the office like receiving a major payceck

Onsite...offsite...childcare for working parents has been a big issue since the 70s. It's like companies do just enough to shut people up, then it goes away again. Oh, we've come a ways, but not nearly enough.

Exactly, with the pandemic and now the force to RTO,I feel the childcare offering would be a great benefit to employees

Couldn't agree more! Offering onsite childcare as a benefit would be a game changer for working parents. I mean, trying to juggle work responsibilities while also making sure your kids are safe and well cared for can be incredibly challenging, to say the least.

A long post: seeking some perspective. My husband of 2 years that I’ve been in a relationship with for more than 8 years just woke up one day and told me that he’s unhappy in our relationship. I’m devastated because he’s never expressed anything like this in the 8 years. He’s been super supportive and loving, even when we were in a long distance relationship. He supported my career and dreams and this just doesn’t make sense. We have gotten a counselor but things aren’t getting better. Comment>

Need advice and help.

I have realized I grew up in a household where my dad did not treat my mom as an equal. He belittles her, is rude and convinced his way is the only way.

It is painful to say, but some of this shows up in me and in my relationship. I am starting to catch myself, and it to me seems to be more of a reaction than anythjng that is ever intentional.

Wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar, and any success in making changes besides therapy. Cont. in comments

I know this isn’t a marriage therapy bowl, but my husband has a really terrible tendency of saying things like “you’re being really mean” and completely shutting down during a disagreement when i objectively am not being mean, just truthful or vocal about how i feel about something. It’s a really convenient argument for him because it enables him to either be the victim and me the villian, or forces me to concede my stance and not reach a true resolution. Any tips on dealing with the irrational?
