Cisco interviewed me for 3 months for a couple of roles and then offered me comp that is considerably less than my current comp for a product manager role!! They also said its cisco policy to not offer rsu for mcol cities. Rsu is apparently only meant for candidates in hcol cities.
Need to punch a bag every day for several days to get over this bs.

Hello Gang, I’m on the business side for Walmart right now. Walmart Global Tech recently offered me a role to move to the San Bruno office, but I’d be taking a demotion from L6 to E5. YOE: 8, COMP(200k base, 25% bonus, 100k RSU). Is this competitive in the bay? I have Doordash and Instacart in the pipeline, but no final offers yet.

Currently @ Arthur D. Little Limited Dubai as SE Manager w/ base comp of 285k $ + 10-15% bonus. Vert limited fit w/ people & projects in the region (MEI) & not motivated by seniors. Not happy w/ the job but good WLB. Very likely to promote to Pr which would include a 20-30% jump in total comp but shift to more variable
Move to MBB as PL. Projects & people are supposed to be great and he could see himself in the long run. Comp is 170k $ + 60% bonus. Will take 1.5y to move to Pr

Not worried - these lay offs typically get rid of low performers/ middle management who are expensive. Very unlikely they’ll be getting rid of lower level analysts.
You’re fine. IT & Accounting is always last to go. Just make sure you’re flying under the radar for a bit
I’d be concern. One recommendation consultants make to clients is to look at those who’s been there leas than a year as the severance will be lower.
But if you’ve only been there a month, you’re probably fine. Odds are your job req would have been stalled if that particular headcount was going to be affected by this wave.
That said, a good reminder that anyone is vulnerable to business actions. Do good work and always have backup plans in the form of savings or networking.
Getting a job back on in consulting should be easy if the industry job lays you off. Consulting firms are hiring and paying 💰
Whatever the lesson or reason is, please take what you have learned and apply it to your own professional path.
Company acquired another so there are redundant positions.
These layoffs take a *long* time to plan. They were likely talking about it before they hired you. I wouldn’t be worried.
I would not worry too much. If it happens, it is lifo and you do not have much control. If you have hard functional and techenical skills, you should be fine. As someone had said company generally cuts more expensive middle managers and they often plan it months in adavance and a target list is generated for planned RIF. You should not have made onto the list given the timing of your onboarding. But if your department is on the chopping block, everything is possible.
