I don't care about your years of experience. Heres what I want in a mid-level:
Mostly produced work in your book. A few student pieces are okay if they're killer.
Some production experience.
A decent variety of brands, showing you can vary tone and voice.
A sense of your innate style- are you a funny writer, a smart writer, do you do disruptive stunts, etc.
A general sense that you're going to hit your deadlines reliably and not show up hungover that often.
This is so helpful, thank you!
Time in role is only one factor. If you have the knowledge and experience to be successful in a new role, go for it. You can also ask for more responsibility at your current place.
In my opinion, the thing about the titles junior, mid and senior is how subjective they are. Like an ACD role will clearly mean you manage people, but the differences between junior and mid and mid and senior are dependent on the agency. In your case, I think it’s more about the job description and your experience, ie: your production experience, how client facing you are, the work you’ve sold/produced.
this is actually just the right answer

Since I wouldn’t know you, no.
No. You may be a rockstar junior, but you need more time and experience to be considered for mid level. Your best opportunity to get into that mid tier early is to network your way in; there’s very little chance of someone taking a leap of faith with only 18 months of experience unless you’ve been personally vouched for, hard.
I was a junior cw for two years with 4 big international awards at a top creative agency before I was even considered for a mid level role (basically dropping the “Junior” in my title and a small salary bump. So no, I wouldn’t hire a junior for a mid level role if they had less than two years.
I was Junior for about a year exactly, no awards or major projects. Unless it’s your dream agency, apply for midlevel roles not Junior roles
i’ve been a “junior”/entry-level for the past 6 months and gotten to take the lead on a lot of stuff & even help manage interns - as they say on tvtropes, ymmv!

Slow your roll. Congrats on the awards, but don’t rush your experience. Ask to go to more productions. Learn more about other roles so you can work better with people. Give it another 5 months and then consider it. It varies agency to agency, but give yourself a little more learning time and soak up all you can. I’m a mid now, and I still wish I would’ve learned and absorbed more as a junior before moving up.
In my personal opinion however, fuck titles. We’re all creators who are all capable of making badass work and we all have responsibilities lol.
