View your career in steps and plan a few steps ahead. Which job will do a better job of getting you to the next step, and the step after that, and perhaps even the step after that. Don't worry about 10k one way or another if you'll have bigger salaries and career security in the long run.
Agree completely with this. While I assume it to not be the case based on the OP’s question, sometimes you can do great work at average agencies and sometimes great agencies have accounts where it’s difficult to do great work. Don’t just look at the agency; consider the account as well and what that experience will do for you. Try to diversify early in your career.
It’s always worth chasing the best work. Always. You’ll be more fulfilled and excited to go to work each day. I know I could be earning way more at another place, but it wouldn’t be half as enjoyable. Life is about more than $. And besides, that’ll come later the better the work you make.

I dunno if my math is right but 10k after tax and divided over 12 months is about 500ish less a month, would that be right?
I might do it. 🤷🏻♂️

OP what is Mother NY like? (If you're at the NY office.)
Absolutely
How good is a place if they don't pay you what you're worth.
Depends on what agency / job you are leaving and if you could parlay that great agency job that’s 10k less into another higher paying gig down the line.
Took a 50k pay cut to work on one of the hottest brands doing great work right now. Got a Grand Prix and a dozen other lions in the process. Worth it.
If it aligned with my personal goals or values, definitely.
It depends on TC, your career stage and if it is life changing. Is it everything else equal? Are you looking to climb the ladder? Is it a title bump? How do they treat working mothers? There is a lot to be said about being someplace where you have proven yourself and have the luxury of knowing the ropes. If you only consider the 10k you are being short sighted.
10k isn’t huge if you’re a few years in. Your happiness is important, go/stay there.
“Great agency” is relative. There’s a lot of agencies that produce great work but also have clients that actually pay the bills that do slightly less then great. You could also be going to a place that has a great culture but average output or a shop with a reputation for awards that will grind you down.
Salary is also relative to your goals, your needs and the value of the above.
I s’pose what I’m getting at is, the answer to your question is hard to answer. Everyone saying yes or no above is assuming something about you or living vicariously through you.
If you have a filter - say “will I regret this” then use that to help inform your decision.
That depends greatly on how much you’re making. If you’re making under 100k, 10k is a big difference. If you’re making a lot more, it becomes negligible.
If it's a better agency than the good one I like now, they would be able to match my rate.
I got to work at “a great agency I’ve always wanted to work at” and the culture was shit. Literal doo-do. If you’re happy at your current spot, I’d think twice because all that glitters ain’t gold and marketers are great at polishing turds.
10k is nothing. Follow the work and the money will follow.
Yes
The grass is always greener on the other side!
I took a $16k cut to move to Europe, because it was my dream. Ironically got a title bump at the same time
And you know what, I don’t regret a thing. Well, maybe I should have negotiated a little more. But if it’s a livable wage, it’s okay to take a cut
