Move dilemma:
Currently @ Arthur D. Little Limited Dubai as SE Manager w/ base comp of 285k $ + 10-15% bonus. Vert limited fit w/ people & projects in the region (MEI) & not motivated by seniors. Not happy w/ the job but good WLB. Very likely to promote to Pr which would include a 20-30% jump in total comp but shift to more variable
Move to MBB as PL. Projects & people are supposed to be great and he could see himself in the long run. Comp is 170k $ + 60% bonus. Will take 1.5y to move to Pr

Based on money alone yes. More money is more money.

Generally the 200-250 base range is going to be hard to break out of, without getting into executive roles or having 20+ years YOE. So yes, be open to higher bonuses. That said, they’re never guaranteed and should always be taken with a slight grain of salt IMO.
I’m thinking you meant same base?
Is the bonus the only reason you’re looking to leave? Do you like everything else about your job?
Unless it’s also a step up in some way that’s not not bonus related (base decently increased, move up a level, better work group, better tools, better clients to work with, etc), it may not usually be worth it to restart building a network from “scratch” (obviously your whole network won’t be from scratch, but you have to develop brand new relationships and make yourself known in some way at a new firm now).
Nah. I’d only make a decision on a base salary. Bonuses of any kind are just icing on the cake. Taxed a ton, never guaranteed, one time thing. Ask if they’d be willing to lower your bonus to 15% and add another 10-15% to your base pay.

Lots to learn SC1. May be true at jr levels- as you move up, more and more of your comp will shift from guaranteed to performance based. Bonus, long term incentives, RSUs, Equity etc.
Enjoy the high %of guaranteed total income while you can!

Assuming ceteris paribus, and that you meant base, duh.
