brb...applying for a new role
Hi Sharks, I had an interview with Tata Consultancy today and cleared the TAG round by answering all their questions. So here my query is, based on my performance will they offer me a hike of 100% or more from my CCTC, because this role is too relevant to my domain and technical knowledge so that I don't wanna miss out on this.
CCTC - 6LPA
YOE - 5

White men in positions of power can hardly be considered a minority.
But besides that, if it’s brought to light that there’s a problem that is largely being perpetuated by a certain group of people, and I happen to be a part of that group of people, if I’m not taking a moment to evaluate *my own* actions and potential contributions to said problem - even if I don’t feel I’ve done anything wrong to begin with - then that’s an issue. Living with an “it’s always been this way” mindset is detrimental and dangerous.
TBH, Media Strat, we don’t need your “help” and “enlightenment” here. We are all managing to root out the men who habitually harass while you waste time wringing your hands and worrying about how every other man alive will prove he isn’t trash.
No innocent men have been caught in the crossfire. Rest assured that if you (or any other man) isn’t a harasser, you’re probably safe. But you could bolster yourself by calling out harassment when you see it. 😘
@Media Strat 1. Not trying to make this a “gotcha” moment or a slam, just leaving it here
@MS1 did this even need to be said? No one here, and no one on DMA, is accusing all men of being abusive. They’ve even pointed out that they have men volunteering to help their cause. Defensive responses to the movement of bringing to light true abusers only serves to muddy the waters and detract from the very real, very important conversations that *should* be happening right now.
No one thinks that. No one is saying that. Get out of here with the “not all men” garbage.
Can I just point out it's wrong to categorize all men into doing this the same way it's wrong to categorize and broadly associate any group with a negative based on several peoples' actions. Many men out there just living their life without sexual harassment.
It's really unfortunate how your grasp of the English language is so weak you can't understand that men are harassing women and that statement does not refer to all men everywhere. I wish you focused on enlightening yourself to these issues instead of whining about semantics you have chosen to take personal issue with.
@MS1, the difference is in power and perception. There are already plenty of idiots who think that way about certain minorities, Mexican, Black, Middle Eastern, you name it.
Minorities don’t have the ability to suppress the truth like the majority does. It’s evident. White men have remained in power not because they’re more powerful, but because they’re more coordinated in the game of fuckery.
And I agree completely with SC1’s image. As a white man, I’m not bothered by those that are calling out these bastards. I’m mad that these bastards are doing what they do and thus making us white men look EVEN WORSE by proxy. “Hey Steve, stop groping people at work bro. It’s not a good look for anyone, especially you but also me. It’s also dehumanizing and mf illegal you sloven disgrace.” That’s how we should be looking at this.
Dude, you’re parsing out the facts way too much. A clear indicator of a bad idea is if you have to explain the shit out of it. This is a bad idea.
I get your frustrations, but your POV isn’t doing anything but championing the status quo. Which is bullshit, to be honest.
@MS1, Thanks for the copywriting tips, bro.👌 You have 4 senior copywriters in a fishbowl thread, and you wanna tell us how to use language?
Ms1:
Is MS1 a Russian bot? This is so simple, it’s insane that people don’t get it.
Media strat you are clearly not a minority because that train of logic is only something you have to discredit with white folk who are looking for a way to pretend they are marginalized and have the same kind of thoughts as "but isn't it appropriation if a black person wears a blonde wig" NO. Before you can understand what true marginalization and racism and sexism are like you need to under stand POWER - the systems and structures that determine our society
I feel like you’re not acknowledging the most important parts of what people are saying, @MS1, and that’s a shame. I hope at some point you’ll realize that it’s not “women against white men” but “decent people against shitty people” - and it takes individuals from each and every group, but *especially* the ones wielding the most powerful tools, to make that shift.
Men ARE sexually harassing women. Do you not get that? OP didn't say all men, she said men. It's a fact media strat
Word.
I love it when guys act surprised at the allegations and firings. We’ve all been on shoots. We’ve all seen the casting reels. Etc etc Quit with the fake outrage. Whole industry has been complicit. Women in the industry have also been complicit. DMA exists because we’ve all covered the shit up. If this movement gets to multicultural agency world, get ready, it’s gonna get entertaining Everyone grow up. Most of the time we know they did the crime and time has just come to pay the piper
Very real, obvi
so if you had a problem with a few people in a minority you think it's ok to say all of that minority do a certain thing? Sorry I don't agree with that way of thinking and I'm sure you don't think that's ok either.
I didn't say white men were a minority. I used random minority as an example. Let's say 2 people with Mexican background did something bad. Would it be proper to come on here and say "if Mexicans would stop doing this we wouldn't have to post about them." No, that would not be fair that would be grouping all people of the race into that statement. Why is it ok to do this to whit guys? Many are great people don't hold them down cause of a few jerks.
Well I can assure you all, since I don't believe in stereotyping groups, if someone of a different race does me wrong at work I'm not going to come on here yelling about that race. If a woman or two at work does something wrong, I'm not going to come on here assuming all women do that thing as well. Carry on with your manhating.
