A good friend of mine graduated from Parsons this past summer, has degrees in Journalism and French, is a talented photographer and designer (which I feel I have a pretty decent eye for after working at a design-driven branding agency for half a decade). I’m not designated a senior associate, but my small firm (boss, myself, and a paralegal) is hiring a recent grad. Still needs to pass the hazing ritual (aka bar exam). I am a career changer on mo 4 of a 6 mo sourcer/researcher contract that I’m not sure will be renewed due to team re-organizing. I have 5 YOE basically in an HR generalist role at a company that didn’t have an official HR function, building systems from the ground up. I also have my SHRM-CP. I am looking for a perm, remote HR generalist or program manager position and getting no traction despite a well-reviewed resume. What do I do? Should I go to grad school?

First time posting here but… I’m currently a 1st year Tax Analyst making 58,000 plus bonus. I was never informed on how raises work for this company, but it’s the end of the year and there has not been any talk of performance evaluation, which I assumed was when compensation would be covered. This is my first “real” industry job so I’m not too sure. Is it too soon in my career to consider looking else where? The area I live has a pretty height cost of living. (F23)

Does anyone know how litigation finance works on the plaintiff side? If someone wanted to bring a lawsuit against their former employer would a general contingency arrangement with a plaintiff’s firm make sense? Or would one need to find funding and then contact a plaintiff’s firm to actually handle the case? I’m a transactional lawyer, so this is out of my wheelhouse.

Anyone has a good rec for improving SC in a really short time. Test in 2 weeks and still not getting half my SC questions right. CR and RC are at about 80% accuracy.

I need your help, please. I have a student who simply does not stay on track unless an adult is monitoring him. His quizzes go unfinished and writing assignments are put aside to browse online.
I also would like to ask if there is a way to prevent him from browsing other websites online during instructional time?

I am open to suggestions on how to keep him on track during Math and Writing assignments. Any assistance with this would be helpful.

Hey, so I was offered a CDP position as an analyst in Accenture starting this fall, but today I just found out I got the Fulbright scholarship to be an ETA in Thailand for a year. It’s an honor of course, and I’m thinking about asking my recruiter if I could delay my Accenture start date for a year. Would it be worth it to do so? Is it even possible?
