4 years as an art director is 85k a good salary?

Whats the highest freelance hourly or day rate you've heard of someone getting? Any title or position.

Please help: if I get an offer from another agency with a better salary, can I use it to bump my salary at the agency I am working at the moment? (I’m full time)

Have you ever accepted an offer somewhere, and then a week later your current agency countered with a promotion and a higher salary than the other offer? I want to take the counter from my current place, but I don’t want to soil my reputation for revoking my acceptance. They are trying hard to retain me. Also, will I have a target on my back if I stay and they knew I was going to leave? I am also just grateful to have options and want to acknowledge that.

With so many companies hiring staff in remote locations, how does that impact a recruits ability to negotiate salary that reflect cost to live where they live? Let’s say the recruit lives in a big city with a higher average salary than the company in a smaller more rural area. Is the company obliged to offer a rate higher than they would for a local employer? And if they don’t take higher cost to live in negotiations, why would someone take they offer?

Currently a senior at a shop and have an offer to be an acd at another. The increase in salary would be nearly 30 percent and I’d get to lead a team. Yet I’m still nervous to leave. Am I stupid? Scared for the new title and responsibilities? I feel like I’m looking for reasons to turn it down I’m so unsure.

This happened to my buddy and not me but it’s been bothering me: Our manager promised him a promotion and a salary bump back in March and claimed it would hit “early May” and obviously my friend was excited. but they just had a meeting yesterday where my manager claimed that he no longer feels my buddy is ready and is taking away the pay and promotion. When my buddy asked further questions my manager admitted that actually our holding company said no. Is my manager acting in an ethical manner?

Going against my gut by asking this, but would you take a job you’re not excited about for a title/salary jump in a new city you’ve been trying to make a move to? I think I’ve pretty much hit the ceiling at my current shop in terms of clients/work, but the new job would definitely be a step down creatively. Should I stick it out where I am and keep looking or should I consider the move for the title/salary/city alone and take it from there?

Looking for info on using independent recruiters. Had one reach out to me to place me for a role. I’ve always went directly to the agency or internal recruiters. Is there an advantage to using one? Why not contact the agency directly? Do you settle for lower salary through one due to the agency needing to pay them?

I joined a tech company that exposes their salary bands in public. We know how much the CEO & SVPs make. Feels so good that there is rhyme and reason to salaries and titles, and you’ll never not know if you’re underpaid. Yay or nay for agencies?

I’ve brought up with my agency twice about salary increase. First time they brought up covid salary freeze excuse. Now they removed salary freeze but no updates on their end. Do I bring it up again? I have been getting lot of interviews and could just say fuk it and jump ships. I got good review but no raise and the senior partner said they really value me then why are they exploiting me? They promoted my white colleagues and i am the only non white person in the team. I hate to use race card
