Anyone know much about the start up scene in E Africa? I hear a lot of general talk about how it’s ‘booming’ but can’t find much information online. I’m in a weird position where I’m trying to switch into tech but am moving to Kampala for the next year. Can anyone give insight on what your company is doing moving forward with vaccine mandates and work from home permanently? My team was given the option to work from home perm if they wanted. A lot of companies I’ve heard are doing the same thing and allowing people to wfh permanently but also have heard some companies are still going to push vaccine mandates for in office employees. What are your thoughts out there? If I make a move at this point it would have to be a remote job.

Can an international company offer a remote job that is US based even though I'm still in Europe? Or do I have to return and have a US residency first?

I got a call from some guy saying he will provide second job opportunity along with my current job. My current CTC with my present company is around 23LPA & he says he is willing to pay 1.1LPM for second job(It will be a 9hr WFH job, none of my details will be linked to this job like pf or pan number).

Should I be doing this job(Considering I can manage both jobs together), wouldn't I face any complications? If yes, Is 1.1LPM correct amount which I should get considering my current CTC?

Currently, a Data Engineer with 2 YOE and recent MS in Data Science. I applied to an internal Data Scientist position. Fully remote. Job-based pay. The company is established but the data science team is new.

(1) What would be considered fair compensation?
(2) What kind of compensation could I expect for fully remote position outside of my current company?

I’ve been in logistics for 4 years now mostly working in the distribution centers as a supervisor/manager. I want to move to something that’s remote but I’m more used to managing people and improving processes. Is it a stretch for me to look to transition to a remote job?

I want to move across state and because of covid there's a lot of temporary-remote and partial-WfH jobs. So it seems like a good time to make the jump.

But I'm worried that small companies will still see an out-of-towner as a gamble, even if they're ok with remote work. How do I address this in my cover letter? How much info do I give about why I want to move there & why now?

My first job was at Legal Aid, but then i got a job practicing&i thought this was a DREAM come tru but I’ve been practicing family law for four months and I’m over it. every family law attorney I meet is burnout or overwhelmed or stressed or all three. Is it crazy for me to switch practice areas again ?? Is it crazy that I just want a non-stressful wfh job? Did I work this hard just to quit???
