What are HR folks seeing as an average cost for payroll providers? I'm going through demos with Paycor and would like to know what a reasonable breakdown is for payroll, time & attendance, onboarding, etc. How do you measure? Cost per employee? Any help is appreciated!
I'm trying to find a meaningful online sexual harassment training that I can assign to all our employees. Ideally it would be something that each year will automatically assign employees to and send out reporting on who is not compliant. We are a small Company and it seems most of what is out there is for very large organizations with 1000's of employees. Anyone have any suggestions?
Cocreation is something I as a customer like very much. Especially when you can give input, discuss and it gets implemented or taken into account. I was wondering: how do you create a Cocreation community that gathers regularly? Do you have multiple groups? How do you manage them al if you’re a small company?
Applicants including pictures of themselves in digital resumes. why is this becoming so common? Is there a source of advice out there suggesting applicants should include photos of themselves when applying? Personally, I strongly dislike the practice.
I need to approach a manager who has received several comments that there is perceived favoritism. They have a team of hard, strong workers who have been with the company for years. A great new employee was hired several months ago with a strong technical skillset. The manager constantly praises this employee in front of the rest of their team, and consistently says comments like, "(New employee)" is the best person EVER to do this task!" making colleagues feel like their previous work in successfully getting that task done for years is unvalued. Any advice for how you would approach the manager, or how you would advise the employees who are submitting complaints?
Has anyone ever de-coupled compensation from titles? With covid/ uncertain economy we can’t afford to give raises, but I’d like employees to see career progression and personal growth as they are working their a$$es off
With the holidays right around the corner, what does your organization do for their employees? Luncheon, gift cards, party, etc. looking for different ideas.
How do your companies recognize technical (e.g., STEM) accomplishments? I’ve heard of old school things like fellowships and “Distinguished Engineer” titles. Wondering what other places do now. I’m struggling to see where my path leads if I don’t want to be a people manager and instead focus on becoming a top technical IC instead. Are there clear paths for that anymore?
Hey gang - what non-monetary retention strategies have you seen work? In the COVID-19 world, raises seem unlikely. What are some ways we can reward the good ones?
What is the best message when informing the rest of your company that someone was terminated? The backstory is that this employees performance has been struggling, he was put on a PIP, and in recent convos, he’s said that his role isn’t for him. As he is getting terminated due to performance, it feels more amicable now that he knows it’s not working and that he needs to find a new job. Thoughts on message to the rest of the company?
We are currently contemplating a spousal carve out on our medical plan. We have roughly 5500 members including 1200 spouses. I'm having a difficult time gaging the amount of disruption we will be facing. Has anyone else implemented a spousal carve out? How poorly was it received? Was there any particular communication that you felt minimized disruption?
What are some career tracks for transitioning outside of being an individual contributor/sales management? Enjoying sales at the moment but want to keep an eye out for exit opportunities.
Does your company offer an insurance payout to employees who opt out of your insurance plan and if so how much? We do, however we think it’s too low of an offering and would like to increase it. We want it to be logical from a financial standpoint.
Got ~$200 to spend for health subsidy. How/where can I find a personal trainer that’s not absurdly expensive?

Looking for some advice on names, pregnant with a baby girl. My husband and I are not sharing names with family/friends until the baby is born to avoid any “I hate that name” or “ i knew a girl with that name, she was she the worst” type of feedback we will have to live with. But happy to get a pulse on favorite names from strangers 😬 Here are some of our tops names (really into E for some reason) any favs? Eloise (Eli), Edith (Edi), Ella, Avery, Elise (Eli), Amelia, Willa, Beatrix
