Hello everyone,

I am currently a HR Generalist for a small aerospace company, located in CA. I have been in a generalist role for a little over 4 years now and before that, I did recruiting/safety for about 3 years. I am now looking into getting my HR Certification, but am stuck in between the PHR-CA or the SHRM-CP. Does anyone have any recommendations they can give me?

I would love to hear about opportunities to grow personally and in my career!

The partner asked me to take care of a personal matter involving a family member’s estate and recently discovered pension fund. This is not my area of law and he said I can’t bill for this. *Advice* I recently accepted position at a 50K pay cut (covid). I shared my target salary /lateral move & at the negotiation point, they came up slightly by way of qtrly bonus structure but also outlined path for growth incl. expected salary increases at said points. Said it could be achieved in under a year. By day 4 of the new job they had accelerated to the final point in that plan without making good on title / salary. Spoke up immediately... “in discussion” 2 weeks in. Bait/switch WWUD??

Partners: what do you want to hear and see from your associates given everything that's going on? Are check ins and more updates than usual annoying or wanted due to lack of face time?

We are a larger independent agency in several low cost of living markets. Our people are being recruited by agencies in larger, more expensive markets. Anywhere from 30-60k more for low to mid range positions and being told they can WFH permanently. How are you handling hiring WFH positions? Are most of you now hiring all talent to WFH in all states/locations?

Is it true that federal government attorneys can hop between agencies relatively easily? Aren't they limited by their area of substantive practice?

I always have to go back and audit my commission pay because it’s never correct. A year ago when I found out that I could actually do that, I was a little bummed I’ve been missing out on that for months . My manager said “well it’s your paycheck”. My first sales job I never had to do worry about getting paid correctly. I’d like to think that companies take responsibility for paying their employees accurately and fairly. Is this a common thing in sales or was I just spoiled that first job?

Mandatory wfo for gurgaon folks?

Billing question/firm expanded too fast.

Fifth year here. Started at new firm 6 months ago, and they hired 4 people for 2 empty spots (they are expanding). 1800 billing requirement is enforced but there are just days where I'm not busy/billing. I've emailed and gone door to door for work, but I think they expanded too fast and concerned about not hitting minimums. Any advice/similar stories?

I'm using data jpa to connect to oracle DB in our API.

We have one scenario when the DB is down, then also normal flow should work.

Although it is working fine, but when we are checking the logs it's taking more than 1 second just to identify that the DB is locked, this is not within our SLA.

In the normal case it's processing within 200 ms.

We're using Spring Boot, Hibernate, Oracle 19c

Please provide some valuable suggestions from our side
