I'm a little bit under two years in my HR career. I was hired on full time has an HR Generalist and I want to start studying for my SHRM-CP, but I'm a little bit intimidated on how to start. Any advice would be helpful. So far I am going to get SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification All-in-One Exam Guide by Dory Willer on Amazon. Are there free online tests to take that are comparable to the exam?
Any advice for someone looking to transition into a full HR Generalist role from Recruiting. I’m currently a Campus Recruiter with about 5 years of HR experience (Coordinator- Higher Ed). I received my PHR certification in September 2020 and sitting for my SHRM-CP in two weeks. I’m having a hard time transitioning into a full Generalist position.
Currently, I have an employee who is struggling. Missing deadlines, making false promises to clients etc. Recently, I sat in one of his development sessions with his manager, and I was shocked at how disengaged he was and how junior he actually vs what we pay him. After some further investigation, we are afraid he lied on his resume and how his experience. How do you go about a situation such as this? This is a first for me.

How much does school choice matter later in ones career? Assuming you can enter the same role (MBB, etc.) at each, will a better ranked/recognized school have much impact on further career outcomes? As we make decisions, I'm trying to figure out how much it will impact career trajectory after the first role. I know the network is important, but how much does that matter? As well as the other considerations. Specifically asking about the various levels of t-15.
End of July. started training on campus, everyone in masks. (Teachers struggled with proper mask etiquette!) Students start remotely on August 18 for three weeks. Afterwards, depending on COVID-19 numbers we may go to a hybrid track system, Max 10 to a class, 6 weeks in person, 2 weeks at home, with some opting to continue remotely! 62 with 5 underlying conditions I’m blessed to be able to teach remotely! NEED GOOD STRATEGIES AND COMPLIANCE UPDATES FOR MY SPED CASES!
