Question: I have a lawsuit against a center that filed for BK. I believe there is insurance from the time in question. However, I know BK stays the litigation and then disposes claims. Do I have any recourse? Can I still reach the insurance? Thanks you.

Now that networking events are virtual and limited opportunity for face to face meetings - how are new leads being generated besides website traffic. How do you "network" at virtual meetings and presentations?
How long, on average, did it take you to study before you could pass the PHR/SPHR exam? Did you think it was worth it?
I kick myself almost every day for not taking advantage of the lock downs to move back home and work remotely. I'm here almost every weekend, and my husband is so much happier when we are here. And my dogs are happier too obviously. Sometimes I wonder if I should just do it... Give up DC living and see if the firm will let me stay on as remote.
My labor & employment law firm has misclassified about 15-20 of it's associates. We weren't being paid 2x minimum wage in order to be classified as exempt employees. This came to light and then they gave almost no direction or answers for about 3 weeks and just responded that they will give all the affected attorneys back pay only. We are entitled to meal/rest break claims, OT, wage statement violations, waiting time penalties, etc. What should we do?!
For those of you who spent the time and money to get the PHR or SHRM certifications, do you feel that it actually strengthened your professional capabilities as on HR professional, or did you just do it to fit into the “HR Professional” crowd?
How do you deal with imposter syndrome, especially for fresh attorneys? Please share your experience! https://joinfishbowl.com/post_ih8nv
"Coffee's for closers" is a classic scene. Any other scenes that get you boys pumped up for the day?
Just got finished with two huge projects I had to turnover in a very tight timeframe. One of them barely had any revisions and the other got clobbered with redlines. Clearly the latter was the one I was working on at 2am. This is my very first assignment as a first year at big law and I wanted to make a good first impression. I feel like I squandered that opportunity.😣
As a company we are looking at going digital with our employee personnel and medical files etc. What are some of the ways you have done that? Any advice/recommended process?
First time founder - would you recommend square, stripe or something else for purchases between $150-$10k or what alternatively?
I am a first year associate in Biglaw. I have been put on an improvement plan to increase my billable hours. My supervisors have commented that have not been getting work because I need to improve my efficiency. I am willing to do what it takes to improve but wonder how to improve my hours when no one seems willing to give me a second chance.
What is it like to work as a real estate lawyer? I’ve done 4 years of plaintiffs personal injury, I’d like to try something new. Don’t want billable hours. Any thoughts? (Also other types of law suggestions are welcome)
Question for you sales and saas guys. I work for a fast growing startup and we are billing around 200 K a month. I am in charge of the sales team and our CFO mandates that we collect ACH payment information on every agreement. The problem with this is we have to reel in micro deposit amounts from customers and it feels like herding cats. I’ve worked for three great tech companies and I’ve never had ACH nor have I ever paid for services with ACH. Is this a totally dated process?
Hi there! I need some guidance. HR and global leadership rolled out some amazing new initiatives like not starting until 10 am on Mondays, no meeting Fridays and required 2 additional summer days a month. The problem is, my boss refuses to comply with the initiatives. He constantly scheduled meetings before 8 am on Mondays and after 7 pm on Fridays. He also doesn’t let me take time off. Should I go to HR? I’m really not one to complain but I’m tired and extremely burnt out. Thanks for your help!
How much nonbillable time is too much? I’m a second associate at a midsized firm and I have 30-50 non billable hours each month. An associate at another firm told me this was really high. Thoughts?
Tips on how to let a law firm know you have another offer? I have the final interview tomorrow at the firm and a partner indicated I’d get an offer but I just received another offer from a different company. I want to let this firm know I have an offer but that they remain my first choice…aka speed up the process so I can let the other company know!
On this flight there is a Hasidic Jew, a super traditional Muslim couple, and a weird rancher / cowboy (though he could just be a hipster...unconfirmed) Kind of cool all these ppl can fly together!
Anyone interested in case interview prep? I am about to leave Bain and have some time before my next gig so can officially do case interviews with people looking to break into MBB. PM me if interested!
Does RSM / BDO / GT have trade monitoring like the Big 4 do? Thinking about making a switch but want to go to a place where trade monitoring / auto importing isn’t mandatory.
Delta travelers: anyone know if we can get free comfort plus on award international flights as a Platinum? Right know shows that I have to pay to select a seat. Thanks !
Is financial tech consulting to more of a market finance exit doable? What are some steps to take in that direction? MBA? CFA?
any insight into the environment at Grant Thornton? I have heard they are having layoffs and their reviews on Glassdoor have been less than stellar lately (ex. “aggressive” “egocentric” atmosphere).
RAed after 22 years of service. They only offered one month severance pay. Is that right or should I be getting more than one month?
Riffing off an earlier thread backpacks vs messengers... Decided to ditch the back pack. What are some cool work bags (male) that that are client presentable?
Has anyone flown since covid?
If you quit your job and don't start the new one until 2 months later, how long is your old health insurance still active for?
I have a job offer that provides incredible career growth in my current city. It’s somewhat a dream opportunity. I have another, very solid job offer, in a different part of the country. Less money, less growth long term, but it’s in a city my wife wants to settle down in. Has much better WLB. We just had a kid. Am I wrong to feel upset that she isn’t more supportive of this once in a lifetime role for me? She does not work (not holding against her). Feels like I’m settling to make her happy
I share an air conditioning unit with the classroom next door, and the other teacher controls it. I am always freezing!
Lease expiring and landlord is giving month-to-month option or 1year lease with 1.5 months free (about $400 monthly rent reduction). Given the uncertainty with covid and next wave, I’m hesitant to sign a lease.. but this is tempting. Anyone in a similar situation? Thoughts?
