I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.

We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?

I don’t understand what’s the point of trying so hard at EY when you’re told during your comp talk that you’re “in line with your peers” when you’ve done two busy seasons and much more ...

Going into 2nd round interview at EY SaT on monday. First interview was 90 minutes split between normal first interview with a senior analyst (motivation, interests, experience etc) and a case interview + brain teasers with a senior manager. What should I expect and/or prepare for on monday? Its 45 mins with a partner for an entry level position. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
I am struggling with the fact that I have 13 years of HR experience in one capacity or another, along with a bachelors degree and my PHR designation yet companies say “I’m not qualified or they ghost me when I apply for HR openings. I am experienced in all aspects of HR. How are people with little to no experience coming right out of college obtaining higher level roles than I have currently? It makes my passion for the field just go away.

If the only criteria we're examining is the best point reward system for use for leisure domestic and international travel (also considering use of partner airlines in the case of Alaskan Air), which would you choose?
