2 wks into a new job - boss is already inundating me with work, gives direction then questions me on why I followed it 🤯 looks visibility disgusted when plans don’t look like what they expected (but didn’t set any expectations) and then starts asking Qs about my exp which sends me into a panic. I’m anxious all day. They say all the right things on 1:1s and that they want my feedback so we can work well together but I don’t believe it. Can I come back from this? I love the company

Working at a boutique transactiona firm. First year did not receive much guidance and made a few errors, one of which could have been a deal but ended up being fine but overall I worked hard, billed hours above target and showed a willingness to learn. Three main partners in the group. I feel like I may have been written off by the one partner, still get a fair amount of work from another and the third has never really given work but has a rep for doing things alone or using seniors. I’m a new associate working for a well-known defense attorney in my state. Anyone deal with this before: I inherited a severely under developed team including a sr analyst who clearly was doing the bare minimum, if that. Over the last 6 months I have had to coach him and correct simple mistakes in his work and recently it got so bad that I told him he would receive a low rating in his evaluation. Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation.
