When I ask my manager for advice about how to do something, he usually just tells me I'll "figure it out yourself." But when it comes down to it, he doesn't help me at all by doing that—he just makes me feel like an idiot. And then when I do figure it out myself and bring the answer back to him, he won't even look at it! He'll just say something like "Oh yeah, thank you," and give me another assignment.

I’m feeling really nervous about my upcoming test, AUD. I’ve felt nervous about the others I took as well obviously but for some reason with AUD I feel really bad about it. Newer hiring manager here. My finalist gave us their range at the beginning of the interview process that was a bit above our budget for the position but in the ballpark. In our initial offer, we met them at the very top of their range and I got HR/finance approval to stretch. They have countered with a higher ask in salary despite being aware of this info. I can’t help but have a bad taste in my mouth and my leadership is not pleased. Would you stick to the initial offer or rescind altogether?
