Cg has offered to match upto 23.5 lakhs.. Is it worth moving to TCS on this grade? My primary reason for moving out of Cg is i m bored of beauocracy and WLB at current project. Is it a good idea to still switch with the counter offer from Cg Capgemini Tata Consu

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Don't do it. 2.5 hours a day, x5 makes it 12.5hrs per week, or 50hrs a month. That's an entire week of travel on top of a 40-50 hour work week. Too much stress for most.
Can't u shift closer to the new place ?
Also, not a S& promotion candidate this year. The job offer is similar to internal consulting which I like but isn't for a subject I'm passionate about. The role is also much more senior than I would expect to exit into (at least post-MBA)
Sounds like a pass...
Those "big" differences are... Well, big issues in my book!
Do you think you can grow in the new firm? Will there be as good opportunities in the new firm as in the current role? After 3 years would have learned few skills that will create ur brand? If ans to these are yes and ur getting twice the salary then no a bad option
But hey, just my grain of salt. Read some research that shows that sitting in traffic or excessive commuting shortens your life by X years. Too tired to find link, but it's out there
For that price, would you consider moving? You're "exiting" now but it doesn't mean the new job is permanent.
Take the offer with your heart in it. Tell S& you're thrilled by the amount of responsibility as your reason. S& may match maybe even give you promo. Otherwise work your ass off for 1-2 years come back to higher pay.
I could. But I want to stay where I live!
Yeah you will hate yourself w that commute. I did 2 hrs a day for a while and it literally (and I mean literally) sucks the life out of you. I got home every day physically and emotionally drained.
Find me someone passionate about working for big 4. Do it! I double dare you! Impossible. And if they say they are, the partner is prob standing next to him
Is the offer in Connecticut? I think I know you man...
