Calling you to join hands, as we raise funds to show them a token of gratitude with a small care package.

Honestly, 2021 hurts more because I don’t see the end on the horizon like we thought we did in 2020.
My too-young-to-vax kid asked to go to an amusement park next summer. If she asked that a year ago, I would have said, “Absolutely, that will be possible.” In 2021, I’m tired of breaking promises about a post-pandemic world I already have diminishing confidence in.
Add burnout, pandemic fatigue and the Covid 20# and 2021 wins the race to the bottom by a mile. Throw in Afghanistan and global warming… 🙁
You’re right. I think all of 2020 was predicated on the idea that the struggles were temporary, and we could go back to normal based on how we handled ourselves or voted or whatever.
2021 is the proof that there is no “back to normal.” There may be a new normal that we’re still charting, but there’s no returning to how things were. In a way this makes things more uncertain than ever.
The hope is in reaching herd immunity which will hopefully happen in the next month or two, but there could still be another variant potentially.
I also have the most fear about my too-young-to-vax children, but realize we can't stop living life. We generally wear masks in public even though my husband and I are vaxed.

Are you serious A1? You’re going to go for insults? What does herd immunity look like to you, if not an 80% vaxxed population?
That is a very high percentage of hospitalizations given how vaccinated their population is. Israel is the highest vaxxed population in the world and is at the Fauci-given threshold of herd immunity.
There will always be some small percentage of people who can’t or won’t vax, but Israel is the best example the world has for what the future looks like for us.
