Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?

I will be joining IBM next week in Bangalore ( physical onboarding ) and my hometown is in West bengal , My father is having health problems , mother won't be able to handle everything and no such person we can rely on . Also I am getting married in January . Hence If i stay in Bangalore there will be no one to take responsibility for my marriage prep also . If i convey to my ibm manager will they consider for 4months of WFH?Any documents may have to show?

Let's say Family consists of husband , wife and a kid . I understand we will get good facilities, education, cleanliness , good air etc , however I wanted to check whether people gel up easily in the new environment? Hey guys… I’m a case worker in child safety and I’m someone who loves being outdoors/dies at a desk all day. I’m hoping to organise that at least once a week I can go to a cafe and catch up on all my case notes that need to go into the system.

Our teachers will be returning to our school building as usual (about 10 days before school starts) whether school is virtual or face to face, so our school is wanting to plan a traditional welcome back for them. At a different job I had a customer trying to swindle me in telling me that there was a deal in an item that never had a deal or promotion for sale so he made me scan the item 20 times before believing me. Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.

I had customers tell me how amazing the salads I make for them. It’s great that I can make salads that good!

Someone came in and ordered 60 bacon double cheeseburgers… my crew thought I was kidding. 😅
