Planning to roll over the pension from my previous company to IRA. Do you recommend rolling it over to traditional or Roth IRA? If traditional IRA, will that make me unable to do backdoor Roth IRA in the future (haven’t done it so far as my income is still below the limit. Also, right now I only have Roth IRA). TIA!
can I contribute 19K pre tax to 401k, and contribute roth to the same account at any amount?
Which company is better ? Deloitte Vs EY consulting ? (Work life balance, benefits , leave policy and all other factors)
Dear Fishes What's the comp range expected for 18 YOE, dedicated ASQ BB, PMP, Skilled in Automation Insights and Analytics if move to UK in banking or Healthcare sector
In my early thirties, still an Engagement Manager only making $355k basic, plus benefits and guarenteed minimum bonus of $100k. What did I do wrong? #Satire #DoesAnyoneElseFeelThisTypeOfDiscussionHappensWayToMuchHere? #WhyDoSoManyPeepsNeedValidation? Not trying to put people down, but seems there are far too many people on the hamster wheel just churning and in need of validation. Any thoughts? Am I off base?
Thoughts on Personal Cap’s wealth management service vs the standard robo-advisors? More so valuing the diversification and planning benefits.
Nothing against healthcare professionals, especially during times like these... It irks me when these physicians and nurses be walking around grocery stores intentionally having their badges out trying to show the public like “hey look at me, I’m a doctorrrr/(nurse)” Like chill fam, we get ittttt.
Are there advantages of PE besides $$$? For example, more interesting work compared to consulting, other benefits, etc
I switched jobs where fertility benefits are no longer covered under my insurance. I froze eggs in the past with and old job when it was covered under my insurance (maybe paid $3k for medications, procedure, visits, etc) - now looking at what a second round or IVF might look like. For anyone who went forward without insurance coverage, how much did you have to spend out of pocket 😬? Trying to see if I should switch jobs again or start saving now.
What are some benefits that would entice you to work over 40 hours a week if it wasn’t a requirement?
Any advice of how to transition into healthcare strategy consulting? I have 4+ experience in health supply chain and case management both on the front end and back end. TIA
Fellow 🐠- One of my friends is looking for a change in her career. She has an MBA in healthcare management. At present, she is managing an outpatient clinic. She is required to put in crazy hours, and pay is not that great. She’s been doing this for a couple of years now, and ready to switch it to more of a corporate role. Any recommendations on how she should go about making the switch? Any companies out there hiring with no prior consulting experience? Thanks in advance for your help on this!
Hi everyone. I’m currently looking for a new position. I have 2 Epic certifications and experience with project management, change management, training and strategy consulting. Does anyone have leads on companies who are hiring experienced healthcare consultants? Thanks for you help.
Thinking about trying for first child soon (i.e., in next 3-4 months) and also feeling burnt out on the job. Part of me wants to tough out the grind to take maternity leave at a company I know and be able to navigate pregnancy + return with colleagues I've built relationship with. Another part of me looks at job market now and thought of returning to a job I'm already tired of and shouts leave leave leave! Any guidance or stories of similar experiences?
Anyone have their parents as dependents on health insurance? Trying to figure out if this is possible and, if so, how to make this happen.
With two years working with LS clients and two years working with healthcare clients, how strong of a candidate am I to switch to a LS firm (I.e. ZS)?
Ah now it did.

Is the MBTI used by any firms other than McKinsey? I find it an interesting and insightful exercise.

Surrounded by Giants and Patriots fans @ Penn Station .... People move out of the way I need to get to Newark Airport 😒
I was just told by my manager that taking a 2 week vacation would look bad while staffed on a client project. I’ve already been on this project for over a year and another extension is coming. Take 1week, he said. My husband and I planned to travel to Europe from the west coast which is expensive and time consuming. We don’t want to limit ourselves to 1 week. Has anyone else run into this type of situation? Can management really dictate how long you can get away - if you have the days accrued?
Is it true that EY is saving on travel costs by parking motor homes outside client sites? Genius!
Looks like uncle D is changing our pension plan to try and dodge paying us contributions that line up with all the inflation we are seeing. It’s all a shell game and they will get their money somehow.
Thurs: left the client at 3:30. Home at 3:45. Gym by 4:00. Shower 5:00. Bar by 5:45. Dinner at 7:00. #locallife
When you think you found the perfect commuting time because you didn't hit any traffic but then you realize it's just Veterans Day and people actually have today off
Not sure which is worse. Attending training in BFE in Illinois and staying in a closet or being forced to share a room with a rando at training
Got to the airport at 3:15 and somehow still made my 3:45 flight. Thank you LAX gods 🙏🏼
I am noticing that McKinsey is increasingly recruiting at non-elite schools (very roughly speaking not top 15 schools). At my old undergrad, 5 years ago the most competitive firm to show up was EY. This year McKinsey took 4 non-internship full hires. Why is McKinsey going “down market” for recruiting? Are elite school kids losing interest in consulting so McK has to cast a wider net? Or is McK seeking a wider pool for other reasons? I advise undergrads on consulting so want to be best informed.
