A friend of mine, who’s an administrative assistant at another firm got laid off today for the lamest reason ever!
*context* - She had gone away on her annual leave and returned 2 weeks ago, she could kind of feel that the vibe was off between her colleagues and bosses. However, wasn’t able to justify that! They laid her off today, at the end of the working week, and her day, and the reason that they gave : Continued in comments.

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

@PPMDs, what are your thoughts on the current/impending COVID specific layoffs at your firm?

E.G. Glad for the opportunity to reduce the headcount of mid performing SMs with little/no chance of making PPMD? Sad to see a firm you’re a part of undergo such unforeseen circumstances?
