Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon
I’m interviewing for final round of the entry level area manager position at Amazon. I’m working on multiple stories related to the leadership principles. Can anyone provide me some tips regarding the role?
There are 16 leadership principle and I’m thinking of creating some stories around each but the thing that concerns me is what if the questions they ask are related to the same principle and I might have already used up my stories. Something like that. Can anyone please help? Amazon

We don't have 90% of the information. Do you like the guy? Do you think they are qualified for the role? Have you stayed in touch? Was he good at his job when he worked there? Why did they leave previously? Do you want to work with them? Would you want them on your team? If the answer to the above is no or bad, then I wouldn't feel an obligation. Also staff versus manager has quite a different weight behind it.
OP, shouldn't be awkward for you. He's asking to come in as an M. If he reports to you, just make sure to respect the knowledge he brings in. Help him get promoted faster. I've been older than my Ms for years. My best Ms are the ones that have me act as the M.
Agree with sa1. Seems pretty clear why it's awkward. That's like having a job where you tell your mom what to do. Shit would be weird.
That being said, get that referral $, respect what he excels at and make sure he's aware of what he needs to work on to get promoted. Set expectations up front and it should be fine.
OP, don't worry - he won't be a threat to you if you are on the partner track. If there are other concerns, I can refer him and take the referral $$$.
As you get older, these kind of situations will happen more frequently. Part of maturing as a leader is being able to have former bosses report to you, and you be able to report to former subordinates. I've done both, and it's only weird the first time it happens. Then it becomes normal.
D1 - don't me impatient. Wait until you read the whole thing.
None of us can define what you *should* or *shouldn't* consider awkward and what you should do about it, that's on you
That's FB for ya. I just ignore the weirdos 😉
Your boss from 5 years ago is asking if he can come back and will likely report into you. How is this confusing? How is this is not awkward?
LMAO @ weird brag (D2)
No one at the firm cares or will know in your practice. Get The referral $$ if you think he would be a good fit. Levels don't matter, as you've been taught in EY doctrine, it's about capability and what you're ready for.
Why is he asking to come in as an M and not SM? What did he do for 11 years to only warrant progressing 1 level..??
Wow. More critical comments than constructive comments. Way to go FB!!
Are you comfortable referring him, or you have reservations and your question is whether your debt outweighs those reservations?
I like A1s comment. Would staff him as an M?
Just do it. The interview process will take care of everything else.
Yeah, this is just a crude humble brag or you have social awkwardness issues. Maybe both. Think about what's best for you and your company and then make a decision.
I'm confused as to what your current level has to do with it. A referral is a referral, if he is a good fit, submit him at the most appropriate level for his experience.
We can't tell if you're desperate and are looking for some emotional support to your ego from strangers, or are serious about that question
And mad respect for this guy for asking to come in as a Manager. I've had colleagues who came back as SMs/Directors.
@dd1 something other than consulting. Years of experience in industry doesn't necessarily translate. Managing large teams of people very different than managing large engagements.
Oh and a sales target with no internal network and no client base is a recipe for disaster.
