Additional Posts in Risk Assurance
Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm looking into risk assurance opportunities at Meta, especially Application Manager, Controls (min 5 YOE) and Manager, Compliance (min 12 YOE). I am a Senior Manager with 9 years of IT risks assurance experience. Does anyone have any thought on which position I should apply? If anyone currently at Meta could share your experience, that would also help. If anyone is open to providing referrals, I could provide my background. Facebook (Meta)

Go specialist. Do what you’re good at. Ignore the rest.
This is so true. Never considered this before
Can you tell me more. I also have a suspicion I’m more suited to follow than lead
Why do you think is the reason to make you feel this way? Can you tell us more so we could best understand your situation.
Is it the stress? The development of others, tell me more
What worries you? Ownership of deliverables, development of the team, project management, etc?
Not everyone is or wants to be a leader - and that’s totally fine. There’s lots of specialist paths that allow for career growth and satisfaction in a different way. Have you considered them?
Take your time to understand what you really want. First, you should assess the problem. After that, you can now start finding a solution on how to go about it.
I think you can just admit it tbh, it's not weak - just focus the conversation on your strength, and where you think you could value rather than being saddled with management
Wow just had this discussion with my counselor this week and he laid out the different career paths available after SM. Basically if you don’t want to be MD or Partner, there are SM specialist roles within Big 4 that focus on drivers without the pressure of making sales. To be honest, you’re probably better off finding an industry position with better hours and compensation. Mid tier firms is also an option but the quality of clients and staff you work with is a hit or miss.
