AWS lowballed but I negotiated to match Cloudflare. Cloudflare offers more equity but AWS has a higher base.

I love Cloudflare. The people are great but it’s an engineering culture and the sales team isn’t as well shaped up and I can’t go for a promotion until at least 18 months of tenure. I am an investor in the company and think of them super highly. I’ve already got half a years SDR experience and AWS promotes quicker.

I’ve been practicing in traditional labor for about two years now (although about a decade of labor relations experience) but I’m trying to break into employee benefits law. Unfortunately I’m not being given much experience in benefits as I’m pretty typecast as a labor atty. Any advice on how I can go about getting employee benefit experience? My long term goal is to have benefits be my main area of practice.

Any advise on best course of action for case in which manager intentionally blocks promo opportunity (on different team) so they can keep you in role. And then claim that you are not ready for promo (after they initially were all about you being ready)?

I was hired to manage the maintenance program, only to get here and physically do the work. 2 years later and being on-call daily but still expected to burn both ends of the candle and it does seem good enough for the corporate leadership. Collapsed this past Thursday at work and rushed off to the hospital only to find out that it was a stress induced panic attack. Client recently offered me a job for an open req (industry eq SM). The work is flexible, the req is just to get me in the door but I decide what I want to work on (which I trust to be true). Much better culture, wlb, etc., but I’d be taking a 100k pay cut and be an IC with no team. Is it worth taking a step back in pay and responsibilities, or does it seem possible to get all in one?

Worked so hard to get a tech exit with reasonable comp, but now that I got it, it feels weird to leave strat consulting. Consulting pays more in the longer term with much faster progression, but once in tech always in tech, more meaningful S&O work and better wlb (hopefully??)

How long do y’all like resume bullets to be? I know to keep them to 1-2 lines and to keep the resume to 1 page but I’m conflicted about how to balance details vs white space. I’m in product and see some resumes with bullets averaging 5-10 words that state “Manage roadmap for $200mm product” while others use ~20 words per bullet and highlight product info, process, or impact in a bit more detail.
