Size is the worst indicator of big law lol. Womble is typical midlaw
1950 billable requirement. Comp is the same across the board no matter location (same scale as Holland Knight)

And womble def is not lol.
I’ve had several offers and placements at womble - and for example for a mid level they paid 30k off scale. Other placements were lower comp.
It’s somewhat black box - but if you’re coming from an elite firm they usually pay more.
Also varied billable hour requirements - some attorneys are on lower billables that others, but comp has taken a hit. They also don’t give this to every attorney, only a small portion who have requested it.
Definitely wouldn’t describe them as big law.

Does it start at biglaw scale for 1st years and then go blackbox? Or is it below market all around (and by how much…)?
Definitely not even close to biglaw scale, even for first years. It’s a mid law firm
Womble pays Cravath cash in all markets.
