Just got a job at Deloitte M&A in Atlanta and am currently looking to buy a house. Would you advise I buy closer to Atlanta or the suburbs? I personally want to be in the suburbs but I hear the traffic situation is quite bad. Current consultants in Atlanta, how much time do you actually spend in the office vs remote vs client site? Would you advise I try and stay closer to the office?

I believe ‘normal’ interest rates are between 5-7%. Doubt you will see 3% unless there is another catastrophic event
If anyone really knew where rates will be, he’d be a billionaire overnight. But speaking of ranges, I’d be shocked if anyone saw 3% for residential mortgages anytime soon. Commercial has been different though. For a while, commercial interest rates were less than primary home mortgages.

Seriously, who knows. Interest rate forecasts are generally useless but, baring a major recession, I doubt you’ll see 3% anytime soon.

I’d guess mortgage interest rates will normalize in the mid 4’s to low 5’s.
Whether that happens in the next 12 to 36 months is TBD.
I've been following this closely and all the experts say not for a while.. I hope they are wrong.
We won’t see 3% again for a longggggggggggggg time. I would expect 5-6% to be the normal.
