I’ve used it for a couple years and really enjoy it. I’m pretty passive in my management so it pays way more attention than I would. I think it likely keeps more in cash than I would chose, but sacrifice I’m willing to make to be mindless about it.

Only thing to know is you can’t quickly pull money out. It’s a few days for it to react to requests to change. So if you’re not comfortable with riding big ups and downs without control, don’t bother.

Can’t speak to BDIP.

Am I the only one that feels like we should have our student loans forgiven? (And I used to be adamantly opposed to ANY student loan forgiveness)
Our salaries continue to DECREASE as cost of living increases (not just “no raises”…decrease!…I realize I’m preaching to the choir haha). I can barely (and by “barely” I mean “can’t” TBH) make bills, pay for kids activities, etc (also a single mom of 3, for more context) LET ALONE pay my loans…
How do we start that movement?…
Who’s with me?! 🤷🏻‍♀️😜

Just ran the numbers and it seems like undergrad and grad school costs will be through the roof when my kids go to school in 15 years. I wanted to try to aggressively pay off my house (400k loan balance) but am now thinking I can’t do that and will have to only throw money at the 529 (100k balance) for 15 years. Thoughts? What would you do?

My brother will be starting college next year, and we are currently researching schools to attend. I just realized that the cost of tuition for out-of-state students is 218K for undergrad vs. 107K for in-state where we live. Is undergrad worth $100-200K? I’m in shock. The average family in the U.S can’t afford to cover this cost for one kid, let alone 3 or 4. The only way is through student loans, but without landing a good-paying job, you are saddled with debt for life. 🤯 This isn't good

Salam everyone, wanted to ask if anyone here is in a relationship with someone close to their age and how they’re navigating it for ex a guy being 22 and the girl being 24. Also I’m Arab and will most likely be marrying an Arab girl if that changes anything.

Just a reminder that we all start in different places and no one should be disheartened by those who are more fortunate. Each persons path is their own.

Questions on Back door Roth:

(1) When you contribute the max ($6k) to a traditional IRA and convert, do you pay any taxes, assuming no gains (e.g. buying VMFXX)? Contributions are non-deductible.

(2) When rolling over old 401(k)s into an traditional IRA and converting to Roth IRA, do you pay taxes on the entire (non-Roth) amount?

(3) Can you use the same traditional IRA account to process multiple rollovers? I have an empty traditional and Roth set up with Vanguard.
