Hi everyone, I hope you guys are having a good day. I applied for the Associate Solution Consultant, SC Academy position and was asking to see how I can make my application stronger. I am a technology consultant at a small firm with 1-year of experience at that company. I hope I can chat with anyone and connect. If maybe the chat goes well I can be referred for this position. Thank you guys and have a good day!
Seeking advice: I applied to another B4, had a screening call, and have just been asked to provide my availability for an interview. It’s been two weeks since the screening call, and in the interim I’ve had a change of heart, which is to attempt the switch in several months. I want to keep the option open for then. How should I proceed?

Bain & Company Hi everyone,
I am currently working as a Software Engineer in Persistent Systems.
I have total exp of 8 months and serving notice period. I have offers from Mckinsey and BCG for their tech roles, but I wish to switch to consulting.
Could anyone please refer me or if you know someone who could refer me at Bain & Company for the Associate Consultant position?
Thank you in advance.
It's the "loves this" for me

Prepare for scenario based questions and practice a lot of case interviews. If you are not good in maths, practice on that as well because their case interview involves quant questions.
@C2 can you elaborate on the case prep session? What advice did they give? I've heard McKinsey's interviews are pretty indepth. Any tips and tricks?
Was invited to a web session where they ran through a case and gave tips on what a good answer looked like.
I used the structure and tips that were shared in that during my case and felt it went well.
I’ve interviewed at BCG in the past, the McK case was definitely a lot easier than that. The BCG ones that I got were much more math heavy. The McK case math was only as hard as the math you get in those SHL tests.
The interviewer left a lot of time for me to ask questions and for us to get to know each other, so to me it didn’t seem that in depth at all! I really wouldn’t worry, spend some time on your case prep after they invite you to the web session, and you’ll be absolutely fine!
Sorry @IBM I don’t have much of that info. I applied for a specialist role, but subject specialist rather than technical. I come from a firm with a similar profile to yours (but I haven’t done work like I imagine you do at IBM) and the majority of my experience has been doing strategy through implementation of the area I applied.
Hopefully that is somewhat helpful!

Interview was great, have only done two so far. People have all been so nice and the case prep session made performing well in the case interview so much easier!
What has been most interesting to me is the wide range of roles within McK that the people interviewing me have been in, and the types of projects that the particular team that I have interviewed with do sound a lot more future proof than traditional MBB consulting (IMO).

C2 - can you elaborate on what type of role you were going for, and what type of roles are in the firm? Also, what type of work and projects are most predominant at New Ventures, and what type of backgrounds succeed?
