I’m in that position right now. Been working for 14 years but pursuing something else non pharmacy. Not sure what yet though. Will follow this thread :)

What did you do for the cbd company?

Have not started anything outside of pharmacy. Have you considered creating your own consulting business for pharmacy? PGx, NGx, precision medicine, etc. lots of avenues currently that I am also considering. There are also hundreds of medical liaison positions for pharmaceutical companies, for PBMs there are many positions for pharmacists/PharmD like reviewing prior authorizations

I’m always looking for other opportunities as well. I started a virtual healthcare company in 2019 and have been on and off with it. I’m focusing on really pushing forward with it this year as my partner company has expanded into mental health services, which are sorely needed. Could use some partners to work with me. www.ExpressFCS.com

I am interested in applying. How do I apply?

I plan to get into ecommerce. I've taught myself Javascript programming and I'm fairly decent at graphic design. Have a store already established. As it is, I also have some YouTube skills. I'll incorporate the audience into the proceedings. If it takes off, great, if not, I have a good backup plan.

I'm currently in my 2nd year of law school and still have held down working as pharmacy manager because I'm that burnt out on pharmacy but need the money to pay for the law classes. I've also realized that 1) I'm not good at people who have never stepped foot behind a pharmacy bench telling me I suck at my job and 2) these damn vaccination metrics. I'm also taking data analytics courses and madly applying to anything unrelated to healthcare that promises some sort of autonomy and a decent paycheck.

Interested in PGx consultation, hear a lot about it thru LinkedIn social. As for non pharmacy related , trying out amazon FBA as a side project and am finding it rewarding.

I’m trying to get into it as well

Two pharmacists I know went into real estate instead of pharmacy or health care. There appears to be a reasonably short path to get started in real estate, followed by a variety of options to specialize and grow. I can't personally speak of their experiences though.

I see a lot of pharmacists move in-house to drug companies, which is something I'd be interested in down the line. You can also be involved with consultations to an extent and I see some people towards pharma marketing/sales since there's money and credibility (e.g., becoming an MSL)

While attending pharmacy school, I worked as a retail technician. Following graduation, I completed a hospital residency before becoming a clinical pharmacist. I did it for about ten years before becoming a little worn out. I began working in pharmacy IT little over a year ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it.

How to get into pharmacy IT... would really love to know..thankyou 🙂
