Got messaged by a C3 . ai recruiter. Read that wlb is bad and that the interview process is absurdly long, but the Glassdoor reviews are 4.2 and can't find actual hours worked posted by anyone. How's the culture really? I'd be aiming for DS consulting, something more functional but with DS/ML concepts as my differentiator.

Admin is a technical role that typically features functional components, but I would not consider it "a functional role".

The admin "cert" is a likely possession of a person in the admin "job", but not every cert-holder works as an admin, and not every admin has the cert.
That’s what I do now as a recent grad in the CRM practice of a consulting firm. Can be a long term career but having technical skills to compliment your functional skills will be really helpful for moving up the ladder
Not just coding - any salesforce certs or complimentary technical skills would be helpful

Are you asking in general or with Salesforce as a company?

Ah, just clarifying because I don’t work for Salesforce. I work as a Consultant at a SF partner.
Consulting here is where you can develop technical chops rapidly with the smaller firms. The bigger ones tend to take on massive projects that you’re dedicated to.
Here, I manage a portfolio of around 6-7 distinct clients with very different orgs. I’ve learned MUCH more than I ever did as an Admin out of necessity.
That being said, it is quite stressful, especially if you pick the wrong firm.
I went the functional route, did a lot of BA work on projects, then transitioned Agile roles, then PM roles - all for/on Salesforce projects.
Can I dm you for some questions?
