I deal with anxiety and depression, exacerbated by grief from the unexpected loss of a parent a few years ago... I used to take medication then stopped (I lost all interest in sex, it just wasnt sustainable to continue)... Since then I’ve worked on a variety of systems to help myself stay upright and moving forward - I plan everything, I wake up early, I force myself to see friends and be outgoing with coworkers, I ensure I always have fun things to look forward to.
Covid threw most of that out the window. I find myself getting into darker/less stable moods that are harder to shake. I’ve never felt “manic” before, but the lack of control over my life is just making my issues worse because the tools in my toolbox aren’t fit for this kind of task
And yet, we persist🙃 Now my “goals” are smaller... make my bed every morning, brush teeth twice a day, walk once daily... to make myself feel like I have some control. Hang in there OP, here if you need to talk

Emotions all over the place. One day I’m ok, the other I’m a mess with sadness and anxiety. I deal with it by acknowledging how I feel (instead of ignoring it), so it doesn’t bottle up. Then, I think “it’s ok to not be ok right now, just don’t give into it.” And it’s normal to have good and bad days, it is what it is, given the current situation. If you were not feeling like this, it would mean you don’t care.

Yep. On top of the world one second, bawling my eyes out the next. I know you don’t want advice but something that has helped was having a go to calming hobby. When I hate everything I just go paint something. I was having a breakdown last night and decided to paint a portrait of my friend’s dog as a surprise. Made me feel better and it’s nice to feel in control if only for a bit.

Yes, I have started gaming again. Which I completely stopped once I went to college. It’s helping. Thanks for sharing!

O1 I am in the same boat. Lost both parents a few years ago and generally going/working outside is my salvation. This is completely throwing that off.

Yeah itsss tough😬 I feel like I’m regressing, and reading/knowing logically this whole thing is far from over definitely makes it worse
But SC we are brave and fighting the good fight! Making our parents proud by facing every day...You’re amazing just keep trucking and being easy on yourself (I’ll try to do the same)
