Anyone else desperate to leave public accounting but feeling trapped at this point since you have no idea what you might actually like doing…?

You’re putting the cart before the horse by asking yourself what you like doing. Better question is what types of skills do you like to use throughout the workday? Then look for opportunities that leverage those skills more than PA currently does.

I left Big4 a few months ago for FP&A ...but I miss the intensity of big4. I want to boomerang back...I guess I'm a masochist

Join the club. I’m about to boomerang back to PA as well. Industry just didn’t cut it for me.

That’s why I went to Siegfried. Wanted to try different jobs & figure out what I want to do after 🤷🏼‍♀️

That’s why I went to Siegfried - it got me out of audit and gave me a lot of exposure to different areas of accounting. I now have a much better idea of what I want when I jump to industry.

Never heard of Siegfried before, but it has been mentioned twice on this post. Also, yesterday, I got approached by a Siegfried recruiter and an external recruiter about Siegfried.

What is going on at Siegfried? 🤔

Maybe EY brainwashed me with D&I, but it is refreshing to see a workplace with almost no D&I.

T25 firm with some very politically charged and religious meetings I’ve read on the other posts.

Is it a viable business opportunity for a mid level patent litigation associate to leave BigLaw and consult? Service could include pre-litigation diligence (e.g., pre-litigation infringement analysis) for funding companies and law firms, overflow work, consulting for patent prosecution firms that take on ipr or litigation work, litigation consulting for tech companies that don’t have in-house counsel. Cross posting this in the BigLaw bowl.

Trying to find recruiting firms to help me find my next project / program management role. I'm struggling to determine which firms can help with PM roles AND I'm struggling to get the ones I do find to respond to me.

It may have something to do where I'm at in my career - 15+ years of PM experience & director-level roles at my last 2 companies - so more exec level but not quite C-Suite. Have one-off recruiters hitting me up on LinkedIn about contract PM roles but that's not what I want.

What are your client follow-up/communication policies or practices? I’m hearing more and more that clients don’t like the long periods of time with little to no contact. From my perspective, since I bill for my time, unless I have an update or need something, I don’t initiate a call. Also, clients hold on to important info and don’t initiate a call cause they’re waiting for me to communicate with them.

How are you all structuring your decks for client presentations?
Basically, since ad school I've stuck with the tried and true format of Insight (1 line on a slide), Idea (1-2 slides w/ a line+key visual), How It Works (executions, etc), and that seems to be the format that a lot of agencies use.
Obviously, this will always vary by agency and project, I'm just curious about the broader structuring rather than getting into the nitty-gritty details.
