As s firm attorney, do you get paid less? If it's a long period of no work, then yes look to jump, but intermittent periods of downtown sound amazing

As someone who is considering it, great question

I just left a job because it was slow over a really long time. I’ll let you know how it goes lol

helpful

Specifically speaking from the perspective of a government attorney, so there are no billable hour shenanigans involved

I guess depends on how senior you are. If you are junior and looking for experience, probably a good idea to bail. If you are 50 or older and looking to coast into retirement, absolutely not.

About to get promoted at PwC from Associate to Senior Associate (mgmt consulting). I interviewed at Deloitte for a Consultant position, but they’re potentially giving me an offer for BA. I’d essentially be holding out on the promo until next promo cycle. Usually, I’d understand hiring at a level below for higher levels but I feel like doing a 3rd year as a junior might not be the best decision. Should I push HR for Consultant level? I haven’t gotten the official offer letter yet, just verbal.

Been with company for 2.5 years in a SFA role, and they just let me hire an associate financial analyst reporting into me. My manager never mentioned anything in regards to a promotion, but when I asked, I was told that there will be an evaluation period before any promotion is given. Has anyone else had this before, where you are managing someone but they don’t give you a promotion? Sounds bizarre to me that they allow me to hire someone but then are hesitant to promote.
