Anyone ever required to show proof of insurance to test drive a tesla? I don't currently own a car so don't have any car insurance. Any tips for affordable and reliable options if I'm just driving the car for an hour or so?

State is IL, although I don't think it matters, seems to be company policy.

Just joined this bowl - I do get asked on occasion but even when they don’t I think they assume you have it. Usually insurance is prorated but first time insurance can be a process. If I recall correctly, you need a car before you can get insurance for it, though you may be able to get added to your parents policy for a week or so.

So I'm finally doing it, I'm starting my own firm in the next couple months. Questions about conflicts of interest going forward. If I switch from defence and representing insurance companies, to plaintiff work, do I have a conflict because I previously was doing work for the insurance company? Or is it just those individuals that I've represented? (the ones being sued directly)

Hi All, I joined Deloitte a few months back. I have not been able to adjust to the work culture and stress and pressure of my work. There are literally days when I just feel lost, so much that I have slipped into depression. I don't enjoy my job at all and I'm seriously thinking of quitting without any backup. I am thinking of taking a break for 2-3 months and just focus on my mental health. How bad of an impact it will have on my career and how difficult it will be to find a new job again?

Just witnessed a mess on flight with flight attendants escalating a 2.5 year old not wearing a mask. We need to drop mask mandates for kids. It’s completely impractical and causing chaos for travelers and flight attendants. Europe is age 5 and that seems way more reasonable.

Any 🐠 investing in property in Chicago? I know I have a lot more left to research, but it seems really difficult to turn a profit with such high taxes and HOA fees? A 250k condo with 200k loan, ~$200 HOA, ~$400 misc expenses like insurance, vacancy, etc., ~$400 taxes, and 4% mortgage needs around ~2k a month to be reasonably profitable (~$300 a month), not even accounting large unforeseen expenses? Is that normal? Should I only be looking at duplexes or is it an issue of supply of decent deals?

Obesity is a chronic disease not a choice and it should be treated as such. By both “body positivity” challengers who too often say obesity comes from laziness and lack of strong will and by obese people who also too often shield themselves stating “this is how I am, it is impossible to change it” when in fact they do not want to accept that fat is literally killing them. Thoughts?

Why do people think $100k is a high salary in 2021? Intellectually we understand that inflation continually reduces the purchasing power of each dollar, but emotionally we seem stuck to this specific dollar figure being the line for struggling banking comfortable.

Private school worth it? I think of it as insurance. Less chance your kid is a screw up, sets the baseline of what school he/she gets into higher. makes sure they don’t get lost in the weeds with low student teacher ratio. Anyone else done extensive research or has practical life experiences with this?

Agencies are all about women empowerment and innovation until you ask them about women’s health. Minimal pregnancy time, no fertility services, lack of support for women with difficult menstrual cycles. I’ve had to work at times when I’ve felt like I was about to puke. Yeah the first few times they let it slide, but every month and they start to judge. That’s not supporting women. All of the tech companies and even smaller agencies cover freezing your eggs. For me? 40k out of pocket.

If you had a choice, where would you live? UK or US? I am in a confusion state because I have previous lived in US for 6 years, totally loved it (minus the health care expenses and live to work mindset). I currently work in UK where I have no health worries as NHS takes care of myself, but extremely unhappy with Pay! I have a choice to return to US but unable to decide if I should go back or Stay here in UK. I will be on Visa in both countries for atleast next 5 years before I get permanent.

I moved to NYC a few years ago, and most of the jobs I have found here have been in Healthcare, even tho I have lots of Consumer/CPG experience under my belt. While it pays the bills, I can’t stop thinking that is not what I moved to this city for. I have bigger career goals, and I want to achieve them. So, if you’re looking for an ACD-level Art Creative to work on CONSUMER BRANDS, let’s chat. I’d love to walk you through my book, and even work on an assignment.

This is a tough subject- but has anyone done selective reduction if they have more than one baby? I’m 12 weeks, twins. Also step mom to a 5 and 4 year old from my husbands previous marriage. His relationship with his ex is toxic at best. They do not get along and it’s hard to imagine them ever married. I did IUI to get pregnant and it worked- but I got 2 instead of 1. I’m scared shitless of trying to manage twins, along with his kids and his narcissistic ex. Selective reduction sucks (contd)
