I recommend talking with a bunch of recruiters and finding someone who really understands your vibe and what you are looking for in a firm. I also would probably avoid the bigger recruiting shops because they are just looking to push people into spots not necessarily thinking about who is a good fit for what
Yes! My main recruiter was looking at big law for me and I talked to some others that had opportunities at mid size firms
I can recommend someone! She just recently placed me in my dream firm. NY. Feel free to pm me!
100% recruiter route. Saved me so much time.
I’d second having convos with a bunch of different recruiters. You need someone who understands what you’re looking for & has relationships in your market. You also want someone who you’re comfortable being your representative. (Are they responsive? Professional? Do they seem knowledgeable?) If you’re looking at the Denver market, I have some recs!
Makes sense, thanks!
Make sure you go with someone experienced. It’s an industry with high turnover and there’s little training. I wouldn’t use a recruiter with less than 5 years of experience and experience as a working attorney.
I worked with two recruiters. I had a really good experience with one of them and felt like he lead me in the right direction and gave good advice beyond just connecting me to the firm I went with. If you PM me I can give you his name.
How did you guys find the recruiters you liked?

Can anyone recommend a few reputable recruiters active in NYC? I am new to this platform. I can't chat with anyone yet. Thanks!
