I’d think probably you could come in at Senior Associate and the pay bands are pretty wide.

I’ve been working as a digital strat manager for the past 5 yrs. Every yr I have been recommended for a promotion and have gone above and beyond what my job description calls for but the promotion hasn’t happened. I have a great team and I’m generally pretty happy. Recently, my coworker who has been there for the same time as me got promoted to Senior Manager and I, who returned to work in February after having my second baby didn’t. I can’t help but think that is because I’m a mom. Thoughts?

Interviewing with 2 companies for creative positions and may be getting offers next week. Thankful for your insights as I weigh these options.

A: Hospital | $125k
Team is frighteningly lean. Totally swamped. Plans to scale up, but will it be enough?

B: SaaS Startup | $100k + $15k bonus. Equity with an IPO looming.
Team is much more robust. Lots of ex-agency folks.

I'm 41. Wife and baby. Money is important, but I would accept a little less money for WLB, career trajectory, and/or stability.

Hi folks. I have overall 5.5 years experience and an MBA from a tier 2 IIM (1.5 years post MBA experience). I’m in presales and I’m finding it extremely documentation heavy and sort of a back end role. I’m not sure how the career growth is in Pre sales. I am thinking of moving back to Delivery. Can you please advise if I should continue in PreSales as far as salary growth is concerned? (I’m getting 17 LPA which I feel is a bit in the lower side)

Consultant here, but interviewing with Apple. I'm curious if anyone can speak to the WLB and mobility within the company. I am on track to be promoted if I stay at my current firm, but expect Apple compensation will be significantly more. Right now I work 40-45 hours a week, with an occasional busy week of 50-55. Any insights on compensation, career development, and WLB would be appreciated. Very torn on the idea of leaving consulting.

Any SLPs who are also rehab directors/clinical directors? I am looking into a job with this title at an out patient clinic. Any advice?

Option 1 - Stay at current company where work is cushy, IPO confirmed, TC will increase 20% with promo, and WFH has been extended until next year. The work is not interesting and have stopped learning. I am thinking of moving to another city permanently and there is an office there. Currently a Sr Analyst

Option 2 - Brand name company, title bump to Sr Manager, work is exactly what I want to do in a major industry working with c-suite, ~10% comp increase from current company’s promo pay cont.

Graduated undergrad from target liberal arts December 2021. Currently at RIA firm (~7 mos). Don't have any IB internship experience but seriously interested in breaking in. Have a very expansive network in finance/NYC. Significant work ethic but internship experience honestly a little weak. Any and all insight on how realistic this next move might be is greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Serious question. Why is there so much emphasis on big 4 experience? I started off in industry, recently joined advisory at a big 4 - primarily because during my job search recruiters and job listing all mentioned big 4 experience preferred. Please explain why big 4 experience matters so much.

I’m thinking about starting my own agency. I have been freelancing on the side over the past two-and-half years as a CD and Marketer. In that time, I have worked with 4 agencies and 3 companies repeatedly. 20 additional hours a week has been about as much as I can do, alone. But if I had more people I could handle more work and probably secure retainers.

For those who have done it, how did you start your agency or consulting firm? What were the first steps you took?

I have a few questions for people in consulting roles (both external/internal).

My partner is in corporate banking, but he wants to switch to a consulting/strategy-based role. I noticed people with those jobs typically have an MBA, and also majority of the job ads in similar roles has MBA as either a requirement or preferred qualification. So:

1) does MBA actually improve someone's chance in getting those roles?
2) are there any good Canadian MBA programs you'd recommend?

Thank you all!

I have been working for about two years in the HR transformation practice at Deloitte. I work to make HR Orgs more effective, engaging, integrated and efficiently resourced. HR strategy, Org design, HR Op Model redesign, HR service catalog expansion, business cases for change, and shared services setup are areas of significant experience for me. I have done some M&A work previously. Background is in people management with a masters degree in HRD. I am looking to change roles. Contd. in comment..
