Anyone help support their parents small business? I often work with them on the weekends and work my weekday job at KPMG. Feeling burnt out but can’t say no to my parents bc they need the help. Looking for any advice.

And no I do not ask for pay, I help the business to provide free work for my family to save them money.

Do you all work banking hours? Not that other practices are easy but I feel like my group has it especially bad. Some days I wish I had a generic corporate client that at least wouldn’t email at 2am

Having a hard time with deciding to partake in social distance hangouts with friends. On the one hand we want to do our part in preventing the spread but at the same time weighing risks. We’re seeing many of our friends “responsibly hangout” and to be honest getting some FOMO. With so many things opening up, can’t help feeling I’m being too conservative by staying home.

I make good money and have a house but I feel like the relationship and the obligations (house, family) are anchors and holding me back from living my life. I want to sell and live on the road, traveling and being free.

My current org TechM has also matched the Money offering 60% of demand immediately as Hike Letter and remaining 40% as retention bonus to be paid as monthly allowances now and added in CTC next year . I have a VERY long rant to get through. Please buckle in. My first PM job was at an agency where “protect the creative” was a PM mantra. My current agency see’s an entire team working 50hr weeks for months as a non problem. Wont recognize that FOUR creatives quitting in a 5 month span is a problem and consistently hand out due Monday 10am work on Fridays at 7pm. I am so sick and tired of the “its advertising - it’s just the industry “. The fk it is. It’s poor planning, mismanagement and abuse.

My friends think I’m crazy because I’m willing to work all the time / give 110%, but they don’t understand that I need to do well so I can better provide for my family. I’m already making more in a week at 22 years old than my mom makes in a month, and she works way harder than I do. Just wanted to get this off my chest ha. I’m not resentful and I definitely understand the need for self care…but I’m willing to suffer in a high-paying job if it means I can provide for my family. Is this just me?🙂

Anyone get anxiety thinking about how you’re already funding your parents lives because they gave up everything and worked to the bone for you? I get the concept of giving back and wanting to take care of my parents but damn didn’t realize my life would be so financially tied to them even at 23. It’s like we moved to the US just so I can give them my paycheck.
