I left about a year ago because I found in HR there was a lack of career progression. It's a good place to work, but it's easy to get comfortable, and those who are comfortable never seem to leave. You really have to know someone high up to have any chance of progression

I’ll have an interview tomorrow and already panicking lol please help me check if I need to add anything else. Thank you 🐠
1) Tell me about yourself (background, experience, why this position is a perfect fit)
2) Why you want to work here (company future)
3) what is your salary expectation (I’m still learning about the position, maybe you can tell me what is company budget for this role)
4) Do you have any Q (what is company culture like?)

Product Design Engineer, interviewing at Apple (Cupertino) and at Meta (Seattle/Redmond). Not at the offer stage yet, but I'm contemplating where I would relocate with family.
No idea about team/culture/stability differences yet.

The non-work factors I'm debating are:
1. Cost-of-living (housing!). Could probably afford a nice ~$1.25M SFH in Seattle suburbs sooner than a fair $1.5-2M near Cupertino.
2. Public School quality. Unsure private will be affordable.
3. Weather/region: activities

My core skills are Kubernetes, Containers, Advanced Architectures, and Process Optimization (DevOps). I feel like my salary, good as it is, is not up to par with the market. Friend of mine at Google makes close to 190k with much of the same. Thoughts?

Hot take, for those who received a stimulus based on FY19 or FY18 returns why doesn’t the government make people pay it back in the FY20 return if they don’t qualify based on the actual tax year stimulus was for? Could have used the anticipated saving coming back to fund more stimulus for those who truly needed it.

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
