Does anyone have experience interviewing with Deloitte Internal Services? I had my final interview a week and a half ago, and received positive feedback throughout. The hiring manager had positive things to say and mentioned they hoped to make a decision by the end of last week. It’s now Friday the week after. The role still shows as “Interviews in Process.” We did discuss potential start dates, but no salary. Any experience with receiving offers for an internal services role? Is this common?

If you’re looking for goal posts for the middle 80%, maybe 200-400, with a middle of the bell curve around 275-300.
If you see a lot of big numbers, you’re probably not seeing people talk about the smaller numbers they’re accepting in this economy.
I have an BCG PL friend unemployed for a few months now. He’s getting less picky every month and would probably take anything around 175-200 at this point.
Sad…
Wasn’t at MBB, but here’s a data point from my exit as an M
~$500k (280 base, 50% bonus, $80k LTI)
It’s not. I exited to FS at SM for similar comp, different sector, more equity, less cash. But FS in general pays well, especially if you had previous FS experience.
There’s quite a bit of variation depending on:
- Pre MBB experience
- MBB industry and functional experience
- Types of roles and industries you’re targeting
- Geography
Total comp is also a bit nebulous. You really want the breakdown of base / target bonus (and what’s typical) / equity (and how it vests)
Second what bcg1 said. The range is really big and highly dependent on all those factors, you can’t really say I have retail offer at 200k in Minneapolis but it should be 350k because I heard someone got that in SF enterprise tech.
For negotiating, best way is just to accumulate multiple offers.
You can also your career services for benchmarks and insight, they can help tell you whether it’s good or not.
BCG1 and BCG2 are spot on. But to be a little helpful, I settled for 500k exiting as a principal. And my principal friends that are looking are willing to settle for 300-400k at this economy.
Are you also considering long term incentives in these numbers?
