Anyone manage to get their Big 4 to pay for regular Uber/Lyft in the mornings?

Was contacted by a sourcer for a big 4 firm. Five minutes into the conversation about my background she says we can’t move forward because it would be a conflict of interest since I sub for that company. Is there a way to get around this or perhaps a cooling off period? Thanks in advance.

For those of you that jumped from Big 4 to smaller audit firms, what are some of the things that you did that helped you have a successful and fulfilling career at your smaller firm?

Anyone here broken into real estate private equity from big 4 consulting? What steps did you take to jump into RE PE? What gaps in knowledge did you have and how did you fill them? Outside of the knowledge gaps what other things do you think you needed in order to get into RE PE?

For those that have big 4 and MM FDD experience, what’s the difference in hours? Did you like one more than the other? Salary range for seniors?

Looking through big 4 transparency salaries… does Baker Tilly just have awful pay for tax or is it just too small of a sample? Why do they pay 10-25% lower than all other firms?

Can anybody speak to how much they pay tax managers MCOL?

Is it normal for PPMD to jump around? I feel like I’ve met a few that have spent time as PPMD at different firms or have just recently joined EY from another Big 4/competitor.

If you were looking to exit Big 4 Consulting, what positions would you be targeting? I have done a little of everything with no specialization (great performance reviews across the board). But now a little unsure of what my skills really are from an employer POV.

Has anyone here been able to recover from career setbacks caused by Dot Com, 9-11, or Great Recession economy? Just turned 40 with 15 years of relevant industry experience, and my Big 4 employer brought me in at a level designed for 25 year-olds. Career progression is apparently based on time in role rather than performance, so I’ll have to spend 8 years climbing back to the level I was at pre-recession. Is there another way, or is my career stuck in neutral?

I’m going to be a dad! But I have some questions. When should I tell my manager/teams? I’m up for senior promotion this year, will this impact that promotion? For context, my wife, once she’s done with maternity leave, will only work 25-30 hours a week.
