Anyone struggling to jump from audit to FP&A? I’ve applied to 100+ jobs but they’ve rejected or ignored me. I want to leave PA so bad before busy season, is FP&A still a realistic exit?

Maybe apply for general ledger accountant first and jump to FP&A?

like

Depends on your YOE and interviewing skills. I had 2 senior FP&A offers before ultimately deciding to go into deals. I left after my first busy season as a senior in audit, so around 2.5 YOE

like

Did you have forecast/modelling experience when you applied?

Job market for finance/accounting is terrible right now. I’ve had friends looking for months and barely getting a sniff

like

Wow, was telling myself it’s because of not having my cpa. Didn’t realize it’s hard for everyone 😔

Still realistic. Will be easier if you have FDD experience first or if you go in as an accountant and transfer internally. I'd still apply though.

Is there an efa equivalent role at PWC? That’s what I did at Deloitte and got a company to be impressed with the Deloitte name and got a sfa role there

100+ applications? No way. Are you not getting interviews?

Nope they’re all asking for 2-3 years of FP&A experience 🙄

like

I’m in the same boat. Zero interviews

Hi experienced folks need your suggestions:
I am in a functional role where I need to work mostly on ppt, finding insights and a lil bit of cognos, SQL and python.
I have knowledge of data engineering and ml as well but not used in my role.
The most important factor is I am saving more than 2 lakhs pm in the role as it's onsite. Do you recommend to search for opportunities or continue in the functional role?

I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!

I’ve been dabbling with the idea of getting into copywriting as something to soon the side but I have no experience doing it. What steps should I take (books to read, gigs to start with or pursue, etc) if I want to go from $0 and next to ) experience to $40k or so a year?

Right now I’m currently unemployed and taking a break from my fine art stuff to try to get back into tech sales, but I was looking to expand my skill set and also generate extra money at the same time.

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

Any EU attorneys who went for an LL. M. in international commercial law (or other) in Europe?

If so have you found it "worth" the year of your time? I am currently working at a firm that specializes mostly on commercial law and has a lot of foreign clients. I have some options regarding the possible LL. M. One of them is little less prestigeous that would allow me to stay working at law firm as I am studying. The other would mean taking a year off work and pursuing the LL. M, Thanks for help

I can really use some direction. My background, I've worked 2 years in strategy and am currently coming off an exhausting year 2 in investment banking. Everybody says there's exit-ops aplenty, but I find myself with less options and even more picky than I did as an ambitious T2 undergrad student. Where do I go from here?
