Understand 'financial analyst' can carry an array of meanings, so if you could also provide what industry (or even company name) that would outstanding as well

like

Financial analyst can mean anything from accounting to IT

Solid point- accounting/finance focused

Left after 1.5 years in public as a financial analyst in industry at a tech company. Great decision, work is a lot more engaging and interesting and I learned a lot through on the job training. Most of my group came out of public accounting

@PwC2 thanks for the insight. Is this a small start up tech company? Or a blue chip?

Fortune 500

Pwc2 what are your hours like? This guy on the Amazon bowl was saying they work PA hours.

What LOS were you pwc2

Hours typically 8-6. Sometimes a little more sometimes a little less. Came from risk assurance

Maybe bigger tech companies require same hours? Thanks tho 8 to 6 would not be a deal killer for me

Controversial question - what are some roles/functions to avoid at Google for ex-management consultants, in terms of potential under-utilization of skills and limited career progression? Common exit opps tend to be in StratOps, PMM, PgM/Solutions Consultant, roles in Sales; would anyone not recommend any of these roles?

Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.

I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.

Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.

Should I stay or should I go?

Anyone else feel like that if they aren’t doing the work themselves then it’s never done correctly? Doesn’t matter what it is - admin to client work - always materially incorrect. Also, doesn’t matter what training I give them - a quick overview or an in-depth working session. And then the Partners ask why I’m exhausted all the time.
