Been here six years. It is going to be hugely dependent on the team. Some areas are fast paced/high growth, but for the most part the culture here is extremely chill and laid back (sometimes to a fault). It’s a great place to coast, but I wouldn’t come here expecting to be challenged or grow much.

Comp is mid/low-range for tech. They try to hire in LCOL or overseas since many teams are fully remote.

How do I ask for a role change? I currently work as a designer for a company and when I have down time I work on social media for the company. Can you help explain why a team would be able to afford hiring an individual under PDM at a higher salary but unable to offer the same package under the Traditional route?

For context, I’m currently negotiating for a role and have expressed some of my concerns. My recruiter has been very helpful, but I’d like to better understand the reasoning before making my decision. The offer is $100k for PDM, but $85k max if brought on as Traditional.

Thank you for your help and any additional thoughts!

I got a call from the Google recruiter about my L7 em interview Google She said I did overwhelmingly good on all interviews except one had mixed feedback on a system design. No surprise because it was not a good interview. The recruiter said i had a choice to go to hiring committee, give referrals they could call about my system design or take another system design interview. I’m not confident about the system design because of the bad experience I had with the previous interviewer. What should I do?
